Never your wedding…How many articles have I written about weddings;

beauty tips, cakes, advice and most importantly, to say OH ABSOLUTELY to the dress. Yes, I’ve written loads of articles and welcomed several issues and readers. Very little did I know about marriage. Getting married just recently, I learned so much about marriage; respect, love, integrity, commitment, sacrifice and basically how to complete a partner into a marriage rather than working very hard to completing the marriage itself.

Yes, everything that was merely associated with my wedding was mesmerizing; everything about that night was carefully planned and handpicked to perfection. I quickly realized that the euphoria of the wedding celebration lasts a lot shorter than waking up to an actual happy marriage. I understood that a wedding can be mesmerizing, it is a celebration could last forever. A marriage on the other hand deserves be mesmerizing, you actually wake up to it everyday.

To help you realize the difference, we start off with advice to help you understand necessary pre-marriage conversations that you NEED to have. It’s absolutely crucial along with your can’t-do-without wedding do’s and dont’s to follow intently. We also featured our beloved grooms (yes, it’s for our favor surely,) we have a step-by-step guide with their duties and tasks well timed before your big day. Experience taught me that every knowledge on trends, silhouettes and design elements helps. Zuhair Murad presented an eloquent dream that was complete and very imperfectly perfect. His strapless tubular floral number with a bell body was my absolute favorite. Whatever your marriage looks like, you’ll fall in love with your version of his dreams. For all the guests out there, we have the Met Gala for inspiration on what to pull off in absolute style (Rosie Huntington-Whitely’s Balmain and Kristen Stewart’s Chanel numbers were real show (and absolute) heart stoppers.)

Yes it takes a great partner (in my case, a mesmerizing partner) to learn the real tips behind a valuable marriage. My mesmerizing half teaches me the values behind this cherished bond, a lot more than I ever thought I knew. It does take a cycle to generate a marriage; you receive as much as you offer (in some cases you willingly offer more.) In the end the equation should add up. I try to learn from my marriage everyday and cherish the gift of an awesome partner, one that makes you stronger everyday, understands the sacred concepts of marriage and introduces his flawless concepts that are never introduced anywhere but in a real marriage.

In the end that’s what really counts, your marriage, never your wedding.

Don’t let anyone tell you how your wedding “should be”. There will always be at least 1 per-

son who wants to add their 2 cents of what you should and shouldn’t do

for your wedding. I can understand that some peo-ple may have financial help from parents, grand-parents or friends to put towards your wedding, and they will make you feel like you have some ob-ligation to let them have something their way. This can be hard sometimes if you want to avoid con-flict (but if it’s that much of a problem, don’t take anyone elses money and pay for it yourselves – that saves you from letting others have their way and it’ll make it easier to say ‘no’!). But, just re-member, it is yours and your partner’s day and the last thing you want to do is look back and regret something you wanted or didn’t want on your wed-ding day. I’ve heard a few brides who even after 3-4 years saying how much they regret their wed-ding and wishing they did it this way or that way (you don’t want to feel that way about your own wedding day). Even after all this time, they’re find-

ing it hard to let go or are still kicking themselves for not letting their wedding day be their day in-stead of someone elses. If you want to dress up as your favourite character when you say your vows, or say “I Do” under water or jumping out of a plane, then that should be how you do it – your family and friends should support you regardless how crazy or ridiculous they think your ideas may be. I will say it again, it’s YOUR day!

Bridesmaid expectationsThe term ‘bridesmaid’ is termed

“bride’s” “maid” for a reason, and not in a “you’re their servant” type thing. You were chosen to be a very important part of a bride’s

wedding day – for some, the most important day of their life. It’s not all about the glitz and glamour – wearing the pretty dresses, holding the bouquets and being featured in all the bridal photos. You are there to stand beside them while they say their vows, to support them through the whole process,

whether it’s helping shop for the bride’s dress, mak-ing wedding favours, attending all the trials to plan-ning their bridal shower and everything in between. It’s a vital role in a bride’s day and they picked you because they thought they could rely on you to be their support. I know that the whole ‘bridezilla’ thing can be completely unnecessary as I’ve seen some females take it to another level where it shouldn’t even go (crazy!). I can honestly say, I was never a bridezilla (any of my friends and family can con-firm this)…even though I experienced some tough and frustrating times through the planning process of my own (there may have been a few tears, but not a bridezilla). But, when you’re planning your own wedding, having the support there becomes so important, and I have seen first hand (on many occasions), when bridesmaids completely let the bride (their friend, sister, cousin) down completely because bridesmaids were either too selfish or too slack to fulfill their duties (and unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be all that rare either).Bridesmaid Tip – if you know you can’t fulfill the

duties or you just don’t want the responsibilities, don’t accept the offer to be one.Bride Tip – pick your bridesmaid/s carefully, you

don’t want to regret who you pick and look back at your photos wishing that they weren’t in the pho-tos or that you had picked someone else. It’s also not that uncommon for friends/family who don’t get picked to get upset that someone else was cho-sen over them. In some cases, it might be easier to have none at all to save yourself the grief of people competing for the position (this is one area where I’ve seen so many friendships break down or disa-greements happen and things get messy – defi-nitely something you don’t want to have to deal with – and quite sad). At the end of the day, yet again – it’s YOUR day.

Guest expectationsIt’s a little weird that I’ve even

thought of this topic. There are no real rules for ‘guests’ to follow but

thought I’d add this in based on things I’ve heard people say at weddings or about other people’s weddings which have surprised me. There are some things that aren’t “expected” per se but is basic courtesy.•Don’t complain about a wedding menu or their

drinks menu – you didn’t pay for it so enjoy the free meal and drinks you’re getting by the people you’re meant to be celebrating and supporting.•Don’t be tight with a monetary gift, it’s a wed-

ding gift for a special couple who’s wedding you were invited too. I know we’re not all rich but you’re giving a gift to two people, not one. Chances are, the money they spent feeding you at their recep-tion is probably more than the money you’re giving back to them in return as a gift if you are being tight. Most people probably don’t expect a certain amount but don’t give an embarrassing amount.•Do get involved with the bride and groom’s re-

quests for their wedding day, whether it’s posing for silly photos or wearing a certain colour/outfit/costume to whatever theme they want for their day.•Don’t turn up with your own guests – if they

weren’t invited or given the go ahead to bring someone else don’t bring them! Respect the cou-ple’s guest list.I’ve known quite a few people disappointed in

weddings (whether it’s theirs or someone elses) or stressed out at the planning of weddings, so I thought I’d come up with some tips that might help based on what I’ve seen happen myself. All in all, I do love weddings and I’ve been to plenty that were amazing and fun. It’s one of those events that make you feel pretty special to be a part of. It should be happy, loving, captivating and memora-ble and I know that in the end, most of them are. Good luck to all of those who are planning or yet to plan a wedding for themselves or someone else. I hope it’s smooth sailing and no doubt, a perfect day. It’s not like you must only show up at the altar, smile and agree to the question.Here is a quick checklist of things the groom has

to look into before the big day:The RingIf you think you have to spend two months’ salary

for this piece of metal... then you’re probably right. Needless to say, your woman shouldn’t expect it (unless she’s a gold digger), but you still want to awe her with it.Without becoming an expert on minerals, you

should at least know your left from your right when it comes to picking out the ring. You’re going to be paying it off for a while, so take the time to shop around.Get familiar with the 4C’s: Carat (weight), Clarity

You should talk about: KidsIf it hasn’t already come up,

now’s the time to discuss whether you want children. But here’s the surprising thing: You shouldn’t

stop there. Our experts agreed that it’s important to discuss where you each stand on the issues that’ll crop up once you start trying to have kids and when the tykes are actually around. “Are you open to adoption if it’s necessary?” asks Rebecca Hen-drix, a marriage and family therapist. And once you have kids, “How should they be disciplined when they disobey?” asks Vivian Jacobs, a marriage and family therapist. Issues like these can become knock-down, drag-out fights later on, so it’s better to discuss them now.

But it’s okay to disagree on: How many kids you think you want right now. “Once a couple has their first kid, they’ll have a better idea of how many children they really want,” says Jaclyn Bronstein, a mental health counselor. Right now, the number isn’t as important, Jacobs explains, “as long as you agree on a timetable — how many years you want to wait before having children.”

You should talk about: Money and your careersOne of the biggest things mar-

ried couples fight about is fi-nances, so talk now to skirt argu-

ments later, Bronstein says. Decide whether you’ll pool all your money or keep separate accounts,

and determine which accounts you’ll draw from for everyday expenses and for big investments. And if one of you is a spender and the other is a saver, choose amounts to set aside for the future and for personal spending that you’ll both be satisfied with. “No one has the right answer to what your money strategy should be,” Jacobs says. “You just have to live within your budget, figure out what works for you, and be reasonable and communicate. ” On the same note, talk about your career plans. Where do you want to be in five years? How do you see your 9-to-5 — and your salary — evolving over your lifetime? Getting both your expectations in line with reality will cut down on money-related arguments later, Jacobs says.But it’s okay to disagree on: How many hours you

should be pulling at work right now. ”If someone has a busy job and works 12- or 14-hour days, that might be a big issue at the beginning of a mar-riage,” Bronstein says. “But maybe they agree that getting financially stable is more important in the long run.” That’s a trade-off that works, she says.

faith and moral values — they might not seem like a big deal

now, but religion and morals play a bigger role in marriage than some couples expect. “For a lot of people, fights happen when the other person turns out to be more religious than they thought,” says Bronstein. Adds Jacobs, “You might go into marriage not caring, but the problems start as the children arrive and you’re deciding how to raise them.” So talk about your faith, and how you see it affecting your shared life, right now. But it’s okay to disagree on: Issues with your in-laws. Those family matters are common hiccups in any marriage and they’re survivable. For example, “You can agree that it’s okay he goes to see his parents and it’s okay that you don’t come every time,” Jacobs says. The crucial part is that neither of you feels like the in-laws get priority over you, she says.

You should talk about: How you’ll handle fightsArguments are inevitable, but

our experts agreed that it’s how couples handle them that deter-

mines whether they’ll get through the fights. “Make sure you understand each other’s way of manag-ing conflict,” Hendrix says. She suggests thinking back to a recent fight: What happened? “Did one person refuse to talk, while the other couldn’t sleep without resolving the issue?” she asks. Whatever your argument style is, hash out what counts as acceptable fight behavior and what’s off-limits. “Tweak how you handle arguments to accommo-date each other. If she doesn’t like to talk about it at 2 a.m., learn to pull back a little,” Hendrix advises.But it’s okay to disagree on: The little things. “Peo-

ple are going to disagree about how to run the house, chores, who cleans the bathroom,” Hendrix says. “But those are the kinds of things that peo-ple can, if they work on their communication style, work through.”

On the other hand, you should also be up front about the big life goals you’re dying to accomplish. Aiming to live in another country or own your own business some-day? “Make sure your partner knows about that dream and is open to it,” Hendrix says.But it’s okay to disagree on: Your hobbies and

pastimes. “If your partner isn’t into one of your pas-sions at all, you can continue to do it on your own,” Hendrix says. The key is making sure that you’re both okay with how much time you spend apart.

Sit down with your fiancé and have a true heart-to-heart: Discuss where you see yourself in 5 or 10 years and if kids are part of that vision. If you’re not on the same page, one of you will have to compromise in a big way, says Dr. Paz, which may be very stressful (or even a dealbreaker).

How to Eat at a Restaurant AloneWhen your guy’s not around, there’s

no need to be stuck at home with a Lean Cuisine — do something fun by

yourself. “Many people aren’t comfortable doing this because they imagine others are judging them for being alone,” says Lombardo. But the reality is, most folks are probably too wrapped up in their own thoughts to ponder why you’re solo. So enjoy your meal and your alone time. It sends the healthy message to your guy that you don’t need him to entertain you every night. That kind of independ-ence is sexy!

يرتبط بحدوث طالق مبكر املبكر ال��زواج اأن اإل��ى الدرا�سات انتهت االخ��ر.. على اجلانب زواج فى ذل��ك ويظهر وامل��ول��ود، االم �سحة على خطرا ي�سكل ال��ذى املبكر االجن��اب واي�سا ال��زواج الوعى من خماطر رف��ع الريفية، وه��و ما يتطلب علينا املناطق االق��ارب خا�سة فى
