How to use the Main Library

Books(*1) are loaned out on certain conditions.

To check out a book, you can directly borrow open-shelf

books by using a self-checkout machine with your ID card or

library card. When taking a book out, you should follow the

process. Otherwise an alarm will sound and the gate will

close.

It is prohibited to lend borrowed books from this library to

a third person.

*1:It is impossible to borrow reference books, periodicals,

audio-visual materials and newspapers.

☆ LOAN PERIOD

To return books, use the Book Drop in KOFU-campus

( Except book with CD/DVD ) or present them at the

Library Counter. All materials must be returned before the

due date.

Please be aware that when an item is overdue for a certain

period of time, you will not be able to check out any items

at the library for the same period of time.

Before the due date, you may extend the loan period for sev-

en days unless someone else has placed a hold on it.

If the book you want is checked out to another user, you can

place a hold on it in one of the two following ways. When the

book is returned, it will be held for you.

1. Ask the library staff at the Library Counter.

2. Place a hold yourself on the OPAC (see p.7).

Display the full record for the item you require, and

click on the “On lending” link in the”Condition”field.

‘YINS-CNS’ ID is required.

When you want to borrow books of the Medical Branch…

There are two ways to obtain books from the Medical Blanch. 1. Go to the Medical Library and borrow them.

You can use the Medical Branch, as long as you follow the rules. Books can be returned to either of the two libraries.

(Address and map → see back cover) 2. Order books for the Medical Branch at the Main Library.

Apply at the Library Counter. These books can be returned only at the Main Library.

How to use the Main Library

To find books or periodicals you are looking for, please use

the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) found on the library

website (see p.9). The OPAC provides access by author, title,

keywords in title and others, and will tell you where the books

or periodicals are located.

The OPAC terminals in the reading areas on the 2nd and 3rd

floors.

How to use the Main Library

Buy a copy card in the Co-op shop and use the machines on

the 2nd and 3rd floor.

When you pay the copy charge from your public

expense, please buy the copy card from the allow-

ance beforehand.

Fill out the application form.

Materials can be copied in the library as long as they are

within the limits of the Japanese Copyright Law.

The Inter-Library Loan gives access to materials from other li-

braries which are not owned by the Main Library.

If you request copies of any books or articles from a jour-nal held at the Medical Branch, fill out the order form at the library counter and request via Inter-Library Loan.
