“When  it  comes  to  ‘child’  &  rural  ‘poverty’  in  North

Norfolk  –  we  could  virtually  write  the  book!”

I’m  Linda  Beamish,  a  rural  Social  Entrepreneur  (an  ‘Ark  Angel’),  with  over  20  years  experience  in  the  field  of  architectural  design,  Planning  &  Building  Regulations.

In  2003*,  our  ex-‐lecturer  warned  of  this  recession,  and  advised  that  we  should  look  at

CAT  Eco-‐Village  in  Wales  -‐  as  a  truly  sustainable  example  of  the  affordable

solutions  we’d  need  to  emulate,  in  order  to  regenerate  (&  survive)  through  this  recession.

In  2008,  I  formed  an  Eco-‐Village  community  together  with  a  group  of  rural  self-‐employed  &  freelance  friends.    (We  were  going  to  be  a

cross  between  CAT  &  Lammas  Eco-‐Villages)  –  helping  others  to  build  their  own  sustainable

communities  in  Norfolk.

-‐  We  lost  our  proposed  site  in  2009,  so  I’m  now  a  mobile  ‘Ark’  showcase  unit  instead!    (After  writing  so  much  about  the  lack  of  human  rights  for  rural  people,  I  was

promoted  to  ‘Moderator’:  UK  Eco-‐Village  Network  in  2011)

Rural  Regeneration:  Through Open Source Ecology, we’ll be able to show you ‘The Global Village Construction Set’ –offering a range of practical designs, free, virtually ‘off-the-shelf’. (Designs range from small tractors you can build from angle iron using a mig-welder - to 3D scanners & plotters.) We’ll also be able to show you a range of designs for small-scale renewable technologies, which you can build yourself to provide yourself with free electricity & free heating - many of which don’t need planning consent. If your community is ready for ‘the community right to build’ – we’re here to help you know which way to turn.

1

Working  freelance  from  home  in  the  beautiful  rural  countryside  in  North  Norfolk  is  really  hard  for  everyone  –  and  it’s  especially  hard  if  you  also  happen  to  be  a  single  parent  with  irregular  income.

In  terms  of  providing  you  with  the  resources  you  need  to  live  without  mounting  bills,  please  know  that  we’re  not  some  flashy,  sleek  (or  even  rich)  organization  of  ‘do-‐gooders’,  we’re  just  ‘Normal  for  Norfolk’  –  and  know  what  you’re  going  through  first  hand.

We  know  the  solutions  –  because  we  searched  for  them  ourselves!    (Research  started  in  2004*  &  now  forms  a  virtual  &  Ethical  Directory  of  sustainable  designs.)

2

We  can  show  you  how  others  in  our  network  are  living  sustainably  in  Eco-‐Villages  &  Eco-‐Resorts  –  without  any  rent,  electricity  or  heating  bills.

Eco-‐Villages  are  formed  by  the  communities  themselves  –  and  can  easily  be  formed  to  help  small  organic  farmers  simultaneously.

Supporting  Eco-‐Tourism  by  forming  a  network  of  Eco-‐Resorts,  provides  the  rural  regeneration  which  is  much  needed  in  our  area  (and  all  other  rural  areas).

We’ll  bring  this  information  to  your  community  or  farm,  &  help  organize  an  Eco-‐Festival  for  the  seed-‐funds  you’ll  need  to  ‘kick-‐start’  your  own  community’s  projects.    Text  Mobile:  07810696800
