9月份，馮翰文先生向本館慷慨捐贈一批珍貴文物，當中包括馮先生於1935年獲廣州中山大學頒發的優

學獎章，以及分別由何漆園老師、沈仲強先生及賀文畧先生繪畫的三把摺扇，本館對此深表感謝。

馮先生現年98歲。今年初，馮先生獲本院頒授榮譽院士銜，以表彰他對推動教院以至教育發展的卓越貢獻。

9月份，陳炳添先生也向本館慷慨捐贈一本相簿，內有300多幀相片原件，主要有關葛師70至90年代美術教學

的情況。陳先生還捐贈數本葛師刊物及他多年來參與本地美展的冊子。

陳先生於1959年畢業於葛量洪師範專業學校。畢業後一直從事美術教學，直至1994年退休。陳先生為推廣本地陶藝教育的先驅者之一。

Also in September, Mr Chan Ping-tim generously donated an album containing more than 300 original

photos depicting art education at the Grantham College of Education from the 1970s to the 1990s. In addition, Mr Chan also donated a magazine from the College, and catalogues of art exhibitions in which he has been involved for many years in the past.

Mr Chan graduated from the Grantham College of Education (GCE) in 1959. Since then, he has committed himself to art education up until his retirement in 1994. He is one the great promoters of ceramics education in Hong Kong.

In September the Museum received a major donation from Mr Fung Hon-man. This consisted of three

fans with illustrations by Mr Ho Chat-yuen, Mr Shum Chung-keung, and Mr Ho Man-leuk respectively, as well as the Golden Medal award for academic honour, presented by the Sun Yat-sen University of Guangzhou, 1935. We would like to express our gratitude to Mr Fung for his generous donation.

Mr Fung is now 98 years old. Earlier this year, the HKIEd conferred an Honorary Fellowship on Mr Fung in recognition of his remarkable contribution to the Institute and to education.

林琼歡主修歷史，及後修畢中國研究碩士課程。她一直喜歡研究香港和中國當代的社會歷史。她曾任職 香 港 大 學 亞 洲 研 究 中心，負責「香港記憶」計劃的工作，就本地歷史和文化的課題進行研究。她剛於8月到任本館，主要負責管理「香港教育數碼圖像資料庫」，並將協助本館的策展工作。

梁詠芝主修人類學。她自2009年本館成立以來服務至今，主要負責籌備展覽、設計及行政工作。她自加入博物館後，對文物保存與修復產生很大的興趣。今年8月，她曾赴台參加修復培訓課程，以進修藏品維護知識。

Ms Becky Leung Wing-chi majored in Anthropology in her undergraduate studies. She has worked at the HKME since its inception in 2009, and is mainly involved in exhibition design and preparation as well as administrative work. Since joining the Museum, Becky has developed a great interest in the preservation and conservation of artifacts, and in August she attended a training programme in conservation in Taiwan to pursue her studies in this important area.

Ms Selina Ho Chui-fun joined the HKME in December 2010. She is mainly responsible for curating the Museum’s exhibitions and co-ordinating other projects, as well as managing and developing the programmes of the Museum as a whole. Selina majored in Public and Social Administration, and holds a Master's degree in Literary and Cultural Studies. In 2005, she graduated with distinction in Museum Studies at the University of Leicester (UK), with a research focus on the interpretation and display of material culture, and completed her professional training at the Burrell Collection of the Glasgow Museum. In Hong Kong, she has worked in diverse range of cultural and education institutions, including the Hong Kong Film Archive, The Centre of Asian Studies of The University of Hong Kong, The Institute of Education of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Museum of History.

Ms Chr is Lam K ing- foon s tud ied H is to ry in her undergraduate studies, and went on to complete a Master’s degree in China Studies. Her research interests focus on the social histories of Hong Kong and contemporary China. She has worked at the Centre of Asian Studies of The University of Hong Kong, in particular conducting research relating to local history and culture for the Hong Kong Memory Project. Chris joined the HKME in August 2011, and is mainly responsible for managing the development of the Hong Kong Education Image Database, as well as providing assistance in the curating of forthcoming HKME exhibitions.

Specifically, we are interested in hearing from individuals who are willing to act in the role of Museum attendant or docent, to assist with visitors, provide tours, and to assist with the cataloguing and research of artifacts and collections on an ongoing basis. 主 題 ， 旨 在 發 掘 與 重 溫 被 遺 忘 的珍貴回憶。本館於2011年5月14及15日特別安排了導賞服務，介紹50年代以後香港校舍的演變，透過展出的舊照片、學校模型和文獻，讓大眾回溯昔日校舍的情境。

2011年香港國際博物館日The theme of the IMD in 2011-

“Museum and Memory - Objects tell your story” - hoped to encourage visitors recall important yet forgotten moments from the past. To tie in with the event, the Hong Kong Museum of Education arranged special guided tours on the 14th and 15th May, 2011, to trace the changes in school buildings since 1950s, with special emphasis on photos, models and documents, and for visitors to recall their memories of campus life.

Ms Sarah Chan Hau-man, who majors in General Studies at our own HKIEd, has worked in the Museum as an Assistant from March to August of this year. She has mainly been responsible for the cataloguing of records for the Museum’s Hong Kong Education Image Database, and for providing guided tours to our visitors.

“I have been working for four months in the museum. During this period, I have learnt that there is a lot of effort and meticulous work to undertake before an exhibition can come to fruition.”

「孫中山先生與近代中國」展覽

正值辛亥革命百周年，本院將於10月17日舉行「1911辛亥革命紀念活動」，包括研討會及孫中山先生銅像揭幕儀式。本館亦將與本院圖書館合辦一

個特別展覽，回顧孫中山先生的革命生涯，並展示相關的教育文物。圖書館亦會展示館藏孫中山先生及辛亥革命的研究書籍，為有興趣的同學提供寶貴的資料。展期至2011年11月14日，歡迎到本院圖書館地下參觀。

為紀念葛量洪教育學院60周年，該校校友會將於11月11日至16日在香港中央圖書館展廳主辦一個大型藝展。本館作為協辦單位之一，將

以「教藝‧藝教─葛量洪教育學院暨校友會歷史展」為題，透過館藏及校友們提供的珍貴照片及文物，回顧葛師及其校友會的歷史發展，以展現葛師的教學情境及教育方面的貢獻。藝展結束後，「教藝‧藝教」展覽將移師至本館，展期至2012年1月1日。

To celebrate the Grantham College of Education’s 60th Anniversary, its Past Students Association will organize a major art exhibition at

the Exhibition Gallery of Hong Kong Central Library, from 11th to 16th November 2011. As one of the co-organizers, Museum of Education will be presenting a special exhibition entitled, “The Art of Teaching & the Teaching of Art：a History of Grantham College of Education and its Past Students Association”, through a display of photographs, documents and artifacts from our collections, and provided by Grantham alumni. The exhibition outlines the history and development of the College and its Past Students Association, offering us a glimpse of teaching and learning at the College, in addition to the many activities of its alumni over the past 60 years. After the art exhibition, the Grantham special exhibition will move to our Museum for further display through until the 1st January, 2012.

On the 17th October, to tie in with the commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the 1911 Revolution, the HKIEd will organize a series

of commemorative events including a seminar and an unveiling ceremony for a statue of Dr Sun Yat-sen. In collaboration with the Institute Library, the Museum will organize a special exhibition to depict the revolutionary life of Dr Sun Yat-sen, and to showcase aspects of educational heritage relating to him. In addition, the Library will display a range of publications relating to the study of Dr Sun Yat-sen and his contribution. The exhibition will also act as a useful resource for students interested in studying Dr Sun Yat-sen and the 1911 Revolution. The exhibition will be located on the Ground Floor of the HKIEd Library and will run till 14th November 2011.

Talk on “Museums and Good Society”

繼成功舉辦「從天台學校到後千禧學校」展覽後，本館將聯同「院校協作與學校體驗事務處」於12月6日下午在本院合辦有關學校建築及學習環境的研討會。是次研討會為「首屆香港副校長論壇2011」的節目之一，以廣東話主講，由「院校協作與學校體驗事務處」主辦。有興趣參加的教育人士可向「院校協作與學校體驗事務處」報名。詳情可致電2948 8011或電郵spfeo@ied.edu.hk查詢。

The Museum of Education will be collabrating with the Hong Kong Museum of History to host a presentation on “Museums and Good Society”, on the 25th

November, 2011. This will be presented by a visiting scholar, Professor Richard Sandell, the Director and Head of Department of Museum Studies at the University of Leicester (UK).

Professor Sandell will offer us some understanding of the role that museums have in society and in the lives of specific individuals and communities. In addition, he will provide an overview of emerging representational forms and practices in the UK, with which museums have sought to engage with contemporary social concerns, to tackle specific manifestations of inequality and to act in partnership with other agencies and communities to instigate social change. His insights can provide important references for us to rethink the representation of collections and displays of museums and galleries, and how to develop politically aware approaches to museum interpretation, creating both dilemmas and challenges for curators, educators, designers and other practitioners, in the development of the inclusive museum.

The seminar will be conducted in English and will be open to the public.

博物館學講座 博物館學講座 Talk on “Museums and Good Society”

Following the successful launch of the “From Rooftop Schools to Post-Millennium Schools” Exhibition, the Museum of Education is collaborating with the School Partnership and Field Experience Office (SPFEO) of HKIEd to host a number of lectures in a seminar exploring the impact of school buildings on learning environments, at HKIEd in the afternoon on 6th December, 2011. The seminar is a part of the programme of a “Vice-Principal’s Forum” being organized by SPFEO. The forum will be conducted in Cantonese.
