Annual Reports 2010-11

It’s my great pleasure to present the Annual Report of the Department of Physical Education and

Sports on behalf of our college. For last several years we have been forming the body of Students’

Sports Council along with Sports Council for smooth working. The Sports Council was constituted

under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Principal Dr. B. B. Taywade and Prof. V.Y. Waghale was the

Secretary. The other members of the council were as Dr. D.N. Khadse, Mr. A. M. Zanjal, Mr. V. Y.

Waghale, Mr. D. R. Pathak, Mr. P. P. Sonone, Mr. M. R. Tambulkar, Dr. P. D. Hadke, Mr. D.M.

Salwey, Dr. M. S. Wankhede, Mr. S.M. Shambharkar, Dr. V. G. Ukinkar, Mr. N. H. Kandalkar, Mr.

S. S. Gaharwar, Mr. K. S. Lende, Mr. R. N. Gosavi, Mr. K. R. Padghan, Mr. D. C. Wankhade, Ms.

M.R. Shitoot, Mr. S. S. Dadhe & Mr. J. V. Jichkar

Activities Conducted/ organised:

a) Summer Coaching Camp : Yoga, Football, and Softball: - Every year we organize the

summer coaching camp for different games for the school & college students, to create among them

awareness of sports, developing the skill & advance knowledge of games. This year the coaching

camp was jointly organized with Shivaji Science College, Congress Nagar, Nagpur. The camp was

inaugurated by Prof. Baldeo Khanna, Prof. Dr. S. Bishwas ( football coach), Dr. Y. V. Pandey and

Dr. A. V. Gomase Vice principal ( Shri Shivaji Sci. College) were presents. Principal Dr. Babanrao

Taywade presided over the function. Mr. Devendra Wankhade, Head, Department of Physical

Education conducted the Programme and Mr. Subhash Dadhe proposed a vote of thanks. The expert

coaches gave the advance coaching for the students.

Football coaching was given under Mr. Mandal, Softball under Prof. Jayant Jichkar, and Yoga

coaching under Ms. Megha Shitoot & Prof. Devendra Wankhade. The coaching camp was held from

10th April 2010 to 10

th May 2010. 70 students from various Schools & Colleges were participated &

got benefited from this camp.Ms. Megha Shitoot, Mr. Jayant Jichakar, Dr. Wangal, Mr. R. Y.

Deshmukh, Mr. Lende, Mr. Padghan Mr. Ramesh Mandal, were hard working for the success of the

camp & that concluded on 10th

May 2010. All the participants were given certificates and also were

provided with facilities during the camp period.

b) Road Safety : Our College, Traffic police, Janakrosh & Indian Medical Association

jointly organised programme on Road Safety on August 13, 2010 at Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh

Memorial HAll. Principal B.B. Taywade presided over the function, Mr. Sahebrao Patil, DCP

Traffic, Mr. R. Rewatkar, Inspector, Mr. Ravindra Kaskedikar, Co-ordinaton Janakrosh, Dr.

c) Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida Mahotsava 2010: Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida

Mahotsava 2010 was organized from October 07-09, 2010, for the 11th year consecutively, in which

Kabaddi, Volleyball (Men & Women), Football; Basketball & Cricket (Men) were included. Hon’ble

Dr. Ankush Dhanvijay, Commissioner of Police, was the Chief Guest. As special Invitees Dr.

Dhananjay Welukar, Director, Department of Physical Education & Sports, RTMNU, Nagpur. Dr.

Jayram Khobragade, Director Vasantrao Niak College of Social Science Nagpur, Mr. Sudhakar

Mohad, Member of Local Managing Committee were present on the Dias. Prin. Dr. B. B. Taywade

presided over the inaugural function. Mrs. Archana Deshmukh conducted the Programme and Mr.

Subhash Dadhe proposed a vote of thanks.

On the occasion of the prize distribution Ceremony Hon’ble Jayprakash Duble, Deputy Director of

Sports and Youth welfare was the chief guest. Hon’ble Mr. Dilipbabu Ingole, Vice President, Shri

Shivaji Education Society, Amravati was the President of this Function. Principal Dr. B. B. Taywade

presented the account of the success of the Krida Mahotsava. Prof. Megha Shitoot conducted the

proceeding and Mr. Devendra Wankhade proposed a vote of thanks.

It is really a praiseworthy act that we are getting good response year after year for the Krida

Mahotsava. In all 131 teams from 70 Colleges were participated including 107 Men and 24 Women

teams, Kabaddi men-25 and women-12, Volleyball Men - 21 & Women – 12, Basketball men - 13,

Football men-22 and Cricket Men-26.

d) Conducted R.T.M. Nagpur University Inter Collegiate Events:

i) Cricket (Men) - Our College conducted intercollegiate Cricket Tournament zone- A, & selection

trials of R.T.M. Nagpur University

Nagpur, was held at Vasant Nagar

ground during November 22 to

December 9, 2010. Total 25 Teams were

participated from Nagpur and others

District, Quarter Final, Semifinal & Final

cricket Matches were held at Vasant

Nagar ground during March 5.to 18

March 2011. After the final match the

prize distribution Ceremony was held.

ii) Kho-Kho (Men): R.T.M. Nagpur University Intercollegiate tournaments, men A-zone was

organized from September 20-22, 2010, in which total 17 men from various colleges participated.

ii) Volleyball (Men & Women) - R.T.M. Nagpur University intercollegiate Men C-Zone Tournament

was conducted from 03th to 5

th Oct. 2010 at college Ground; 21 teams from various colleges

participated.

e) Conducted District Sports Office Tournament

i) Cricket U/19 Girls Tournament: On our college Vasant Nagar ground the district level U/19 inter-

collegiate Cricket tournament of District Sports Office was conducted on October 1-6, 2010.

ii) Baseball Tournament: On our

college ground the district level

interschool Baseball tournament of

District Sports Office was conducted on

September 27-29, 2010. U/14, U/17 &

U/19 years Boys & Girls.

iii) Softball Tournament: On our

college ground the district level

interschool Softball tournament of

District Sports Office was conducted on October 10-13, 2010. U/14, U/17 & U/19 year’s Boys &

Girls.

f) YCMOU Sports Meet: YCMOU divisional center was organised one day Sports meet

on October 22, 2010 at our college ground Dr. Anil Karwande, Principal IDCPE was

inaugurated the meet, Prin. Dr.

B.B. Taywade were presided over

the function, & Dr. Subash Belsare

Center Coordinator were present.

In this sports meet the Kho-Kho,

Volleyball, Basketball, Kabaddi &

Athletics Division teams were

selected. Prof Archana Deshmukh

was conducted the programme &

Prof. S.S. Dadhe proposed the Vote

of thanks.

g) Annual Sport Meet: On the occasion of 112th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Panjabrao

Deshmukh, our department organized the Inter-class Volleyball, Cricket, Tug of War and Athletics -

100 mtr. Running & Shot-put competitions for college students on December 24-25, 2010. All the

winners were given the prizes at prize distribution ceremony which was held on 27.12.2010.

h) Aero modeling Show: Our College & Sakal News paper was organised a programme

on Aero modeling Show on January 15,

2011. In our college premises in

between 3.00 to 6.00 pm , The main

purpose of this programme was all are to

know the science in aero modeling,

College staff, students from college &

various schools, people from

the society & renowned

personalities from the city were

present on this programme.

i) Self defense camp for girl students and Vidarbha level karate competition:

Self defense camp for girl students was

organized from 12th

& 22th

Jan. 2011. Total

35 students from our college participated

and were benefitted in the 10 days Camp.

Mr. Rishikesh Gulhane & Miss Chaitaly

Shelke offered coaching for the self

defense & basic skills of karate; all the

participants responded well. On the last day

i.e. on 22st Jan. all the participants showed

good demonstration of self defense. All

participants were given the Certificate on

this day. Multipurpose bright future sports

Association and sports Department

conducted this camp. All staff members

and students were present on this occasion.

j) Nagpur International Marathon - On 30st Jan. 2011 Nagpur International Marathon-2011

was organised for the Third time by Inter-National Day for Non-violence, Organizing Committee &

Maratha Lancers, Nagpur under the slogan “for the culture of peace and Non-violence”. Our college

played a major role in this event & Principal Dr. B.B. Taywade was the co co-ordinator. Total 90,000

Men & Women from all over India & other countries participated. This year total participation was

increased and performance was good.

k) Medical Examination & Physical Efficiency Test- As per University Ordinance every

year our Department conducts the Medical Examination & Physical Efficiency Test of our college

Students (under graduate) in the month of December 2010 & January 2011 respectively. This year the

same activity took place this year. Accordingly the statistical reports were submitted to the R.T.M.

Nagpur University, Nagpur on 31st Jan.2011.

Participation: 24 Men & 09 women teams of the college participated in various games &

sports of the R. T. M. Nagpur University Nagpur Intercollegiate and other tournaments as under:

a) Nagpur University Intercollegiate tournament: - Athletics, Ball Badminton, Cross-Country, Half

Marathon, Handball, Netball, Judo, Kabaddi, Korfball, Volleyball, Yogasana (Men & Women)

Basketball, Badminton, Boxing, Cricket, Chess, Kho-Kho, Swimming, Wrestling, Soft Ball, Football,

Hockey, Table Tennis, Power Lifting in men section.

b) Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida Mahotsava 2010: - Kabaddi, Volleyball -Men & Women, Kho-

Kho, Basketball, Football, and Cricket (Men).

Cricket: - Krik- Mania 2009, JIT ricblity-2010, Bezonbagh Sports Asso. Inter-collegiate T-20, Dr.

Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law Inter-collegiate Tournament & V.C.A District and Vidarbha.

Facilities Provided: We provide following facilities to our students, staff and local people:

Well-equipped Modern Gym, Training for various games, Equipments for the various games,

Uniforms & shoes, Concession for outstation tournaments, Refreshment and daily allowances during

tournaments etc.

Achievements: We put efforts to train our players at least one month before the respective

games & sports so that they may be well trained to win a name & fame for themselves as well as for

college. This is our pride privilege that Cross-country, Athletics, Softball, Volleyball & Basketball

team Champions in RTM Nagpur University Tournaments. In Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida

Mahotsava-2010 we won the General Championship.

We bagged overall performance in the International Marathon & from India, Ku. Rohini & Monika

Raut got the 2nd

& 3rd

place. Our College secured the first prize of Rs. 10,000/- each for the Over All

best performance & Best Costume.

1. Karate: Mr. Praful Gurnule student of B.Com. II year (Comp. App.) secured first place in State

level Karate Championship & won the Gold medal in Second Akshay Kumar Invitation Karate

Championship held at Andheri, Mumbai & also

participated in International Karate

Championship organised by

SHITO-RYU Karate School of

India, held at Udaypur, Rajasthan,

on August 20-22, 2010.He was

represented from India for

International first Karate

Championship was held at

Singapur on March 23 to 27, 2011

3. VOLLEYBALL: Our college team got the Championship in University Intercollegiate volleyball

tournament & runner-up Trophy in Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida Mahotsava. Mr. Vinit Charan &

Mr. Mayur Ingole represented the

Nagpur University team and played

the Interuniversity Tournament held

at Jaipur from January 15-20, 2011

and participated in the Ashwamedh

2010. Other members of the college

4. SOFTBALL: - Our college team got the Championship in University Intercollegiate volleyball

tournament. Mr. Vivek Sahu, Mr. Ketan Thakre, Mr. Nikhil Mohite & Mr. Chetan Mahadic were

selected in University team &

represented the All India Inter

Uni. Softball Championship

held at Vijayawada organised

by Archarya Nagarjun

University, from January 19 to

23, 2011. Other members were

5. ATHLETICS: - Our college women team got the General Championship in the Intercollegiate

Athletic meet of R T M Nagpur University. Ku. Rohini Raut & Monika Raut secured first & Second

place in 1000, 5000 and 1500 Mts.

Running, while Ku. Priya Raghorte

was 2nd

in 800, 1500 Mts. & 400mt

Running. Ku. Rohini Raut got the

best Athlete Award in R. T. M.

Nagpur University. In 4 X 400 Mts.

relay our team secured first place in

the Athletics Meet. Ku. Rohini,

Monika & Priya were participated

in the All India Inter University

Athletic meet held at Gunture.

6. BASKETBALL: Our college team got the Championship in University Intercollegiate volleyball

tournament & runner-up in Dr. Panjabrao

Deshmukh Krida Mahotsava 2010. Mr. Anil

Nayar, Mr. Sanjot Shirpurkar, Mr. Akshay

Belwalkar & Mr. Sumit Kanere were

selected for University team and played the

Interuniversity Tournament held at Jodhpur,

from December 5-11, 2010. Other members

were Mr. Sarang Walwatkar, Mr. Anup

Athilkar, Mr. Akash Katole, Mr. Arjun P.

Rukhane & Mr. Pankaj Tandalkar.

7. CRICKET: Our Cricket team runners Ups in University Intercollegiate volleyball tournament &

Dr. Babasheb Ambedkar College of

Law Tournament. MR. Sumit Ruikar

represented the Nagpur University

team. Other team members were

Gaurav Wankhede, Sumit Ruikar,

Aniruddha Sain, Nikhil Pophli,

Kunal Sawankar, Sarang Chavan,

Ashish Dhanvijay, Mayur Thekedar,

Avinash K. Gupt, Jatin Yadao,

Ajay Turkar and Nilesh Navnage.

8. NETBALL: Our College women team got third place in the R.T.M. Nagpur University

Intercollegiate Tournament. Ku. Kanchan Unate & Jaya Bannagare were selected for R.T.M. Nagpur

University team for All India University Netball tournaments held at Chandigarh.

Our college Handball, Ball-badminton, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Chess, Table tennis, Badminton, Football,

Wrestling, Power lifting, Boxing, Judo, Yogasana & Karate teams participated in various tournaments

and perform very well. Some of the players were selected for Interuniversity, State & National

competitions.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Our Junior college teams participated in the inter-collegiate Kho-Kho,

Volleyball, Handball, Ball-badminton, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Softball, Baseball, Football,

Malkhamb, Wrestling, Taykando and Athletics. In District level total 12 students were participated.

1. ATHLETICS :– In District level Uday Palvin in 800, Fugary Wasave in Division level 400

Mts., 5000 Mtr. running, 400 ,Mtr. Hurdles

and 4 x 100 Mrts Relay. Abhilash Gore,

Rohit Khatri and Avinash Chavhan. In long

jump& triple Jump, Saurabh Bhujade in

Cross-Country all are winners and they are

selected for State Athletic selection trials

held at Pune fron December 19-21, 2010.

Mr. Uday palvin was represented from

Maharashtra Team for National a tournament

which was held at Puna.

2. NETBALL: Our College girls team won the District & Divisional Level Tournament.

Participated in State level tournament held at Nashik, from November 20 – 21, 2010 & perform very

well.

3. VOLLEYBALL: Our Volleyball team was runners up in District level inter-Collegiate

tournaments of Zilla-Parishad Mr. Shubham Darhe & Vikas Kamble slelected for State selection

trials which was held at Wardha

4. KARATE: Mr. Ganesh Bhonde was the winner in Nagpur District Tour. and was selected for

Division tournaments held at Wardha

5. HANDBALL: Our College Girls team stood runners up in the inter-Collegiate tournaments

organized by District sports office, Nagpur. Miss Pausuile Newme & in Men’s team Mr. Arun patil

and Umesh Kulsang were represented from Maha. team for National Tour. Which was held at

Hariyana on 2nd

to 6th Jan. 2011.

6. KHO-KHO: Our college boys team was runners-up in the inter school District level

tournament organized by District Sports Office, Nagpur.

7. SKETING : Mr. Shubham Lakhankar was the winner in Nag. District tour. and participated in

Maha. State selection trials in Pune on 2-3 Dec. 2010.

8. MALKHAMB: Mr. Vaibhav Sapate won the title in the District level & participated in the

Division tournaments.

9. BALL-BADMINTON: Our college Girls team was runners- up in the inter-collegiate

district tournaments organized by the District Sports Office, Nagpur.

10. WRESTLING: Total 5 students were participated in District tour. Mr. Avinash Rajput and

Vijay Dehankar won the title in the district & Participated in division level wrestling competition

And other teams of our college i.e. Kabaddi, Basketball, Cricket, Badminton, Swimming, Malkhamb

were participated in inter-collegiate Tournaments organized by District sports office, Nagpur &

perform very well. .
