3. Apa yang dimaksud dengan aliran laminar, turbulen dan plug flow? Apakah
viskositas dapat mempengaruhi jenis aliran tersebut?
a. Laminar flow : a type of fluid flow in which the direction of flow remainsconstant with time at each point in the flow.
b. Turbulent flow : a type of fluid flow in which the direction of flow changes at
each point in the fluid with time.c. Plug flow : a type of laminar flow in which there is no shearing in the center of
the flow. Plug flow can occur with low velocities in drilling mud during the
drilling well.Viskositas merupakan indikasi tipe aliran fluida, karena merupakan salah satu
variable dalam reynold number yang menggolongkan tipe aliran berdasarkandiameter, laju alir, densitas dan viskositas fluida.
4. Pada pemboran normal, bagaimana kondisi aliran di annulus seharusnya?
Mengapa?
Di annulus yang terjadi adalah aliran laminar, karena di annulus annular pressurelossnya kecil, kurang dari 10 % dari total pressure loss. Dari pressure drop akan
mempengaruhi velocity,oleh karena pressure drop kecil maka aliran laminar.

The difference in velocity between two adjacent phases. Slip velocity can be thedifference between fluid velocity in the annulus of a well and the velocity at

Other polymers such as xanthan gum require elevated temperatures in even lower density
solutions. In many cases, as for example in workover operations, the equipment available
for preparing the well servicing fluids does not readily lend itself to high temperaturemixing. In well servicing operations where a solids-free well servicing fluid is desired,
such as certain completion operations, the fluid cannot be circulated in the hot borehole
to increase the temperature of the fluid.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
It is an object of this invention to provide a new method of producing viscous heavy brine
well servicing fluids containing zinc bromide.A further object of this invention is to provide a method of increasing the rate of
hydration of polymeric viscosifiers/fluid loss additives in heavy brine well servicingfluids containing zinc bromide.
Another object of this invention is to provide a method of utilizing activated
hydroxyethyl cellulose compositions in viscosifying heavy brine well servicing fluids.The above and other objects of the present invention will become apparent to one skilled
in the art from the description given herein and the appended claims.
In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a method of producing a wellservicing fluid containing at least 16% by weight zinc bromide, preferably at least 18%,
and most preferably at least 20%, which comprises mixing together an activated
hydroxyethyl cellulose composition and a solution containing at least 30% zinc bromide,preferably at least 35%, and diluting the resulting viscous solution with a solution
containing a salt selected from the group consisting of calcium chloride, calcium
bromide, and mixtures thereof, to produce a viscous well servicing fluid having a density
in the range from about 14.2 ppg. to about 18.0 ppg.In another embodiment of this invention, there is provided a method of producing a well
servicing fluid containing at least 16% by weight zinc bromide, preferably at least 18%,
and most preferably 20%, which comprises mixing together an activated hydroxyethyl
