Welcome to DarioTM
DarioTM is a state-of-the-art in diabetes management platform that connects the user,
caregiver and healthcare professional anywhere in the world. Dario‘s cloud-based software
provides you with an easy seamless way to record, save, track, analyze, manage & share all
your diabetes related information in one lifestyle management platform.
The DarioTM management app supports full diabetes lifecycle and allows you to record your
blood glucose, food intake, insulin administered, physical activities and other different
activities and situations along with personal trends graphs, personal challenges, sharing and
alerting.
The DarioTM Smart Mobile Device Application is a tool for managing your personal diabetes
care. To ensure accurate data management, it is recommended that the application be used
individually and not be shared on a single device.
On What devices can DarioTM be used?
» iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5C, 5S with iOS 6.1 and above
» iPad 2, The new iPad, iPad retina, iPad mini with iOS 6.1 and above
» iPod touch with iOS 6.1 and above
1. How to install the DarioTM App on iOS smart mobile device
The DarioTM app can be installed on any compatible iOS smart mobile device with
an active Apple App store account.
You can download the DarioTM app online from the Apple App Store free of
charge. To download the app, tap on the DarioTM icon Tap “Free” followed by “Install”. Once
you’ve authenticated your account information, the DarioTM app is installed on your device.

Using the DarioTM App
Tap on the Dario icon and you’re ready to get started!
Tap on ‘SIGN UP’ to create a new account. If you already
created an account previously, tap ‘LOG IN’ and enter
your login information.
Begin by entering your name, e-mail address &
password.
» Your password must contain at least 7 characters, an
upper case letter, a lower case letter and a number.
» Your e-mail address and password will be used for
future login to the app and to the DarioTM web-portal.
In case you’ve forgotten your password, tap on
‘FORGOT PASSWORD’. An e-mail with instructions for
resetting your password will be sent to you.
» You can edit your e-mail address and password and
set the DarioTM app language and region in ‘ACCOUNT
SETTINGS’ in the SETTINGS menu.
Next, personalize your DarioTM with identifying information, upload your best photo and,
most important, select the units you would like your blood glucose results and carbs to
be displayed in.
Later on, you can always add info or edit your personal details in ‘PERSONAL PROFILE’ in
the SETTINGS menu.

We recommend that you log your diabetes data the ‘DIABETES
PROFILE’ in the SETTINGS menu. Filling in your preferred
measurement units, types of insulin you use and blood glucose
thresholds will assist you in better self-management of your
diabetes.
» Tap on the pencil icon in the top right corner to edit your
settings.
» Edit your details by tapping on each selected field.
Once you’ve finished editing, tap on ‘SAVE’.
» If you have any questions about the values to enter, consult
your caregiver for assistance.
» When you’re done, tap on the ‘V’ icon in the top right
corner and your data will be saved.
The DarioTM main board provides you with a snapshot of all
your statistical information, easy access to the DarioTM
community, and a place to log all your data in a one-stop-
shop.
» Tap on ‘+’.
» Fill in your blood glucose, carbs consumption, bolus or
basal insulin & physical activity.
» Tag your blood glucose measurement as PRE-MEAL / POST-
MEAL or BEDTIME. Your blood glucose level will be colored-
coded according to the thresholds you set in your ‘DIABETES
PROFILE’.
» Tag your meal, mood or activity, or write a note with
any additional information you want to log.
» If you like, you can always go back and edit your entry
or add to it.
» When you are done entering data, tap on the ‘V’ icon in
the top right corner. Your data will be saved and can
be displayed in your logbook, where you can edit,
delete and share it with your caregiver.

We know that estimating your carbs and food intake is necessary but not always easy.
DarioTM can help you select, log & track your meal options. Tap on the ‘CARBS’ arrow on
the entry screen to open the ‘CARBS’ screen. Here you can search an extensive database
for the nutritional values of any desired food, or you can log your own cooked meals. You
can also view your previous meals or tag specific foods as your favorites for future
reference.
4.1. Search food items:
» Tap on the ‘SEARCH’ field and
start typing the name of the food
you are looking for.
» Tap on the ‘+’ button next to
the name of the food item you
want from the list to select it.
The item will be added to your
meal board with its estimated
carbs value.
» Select the serving size or amount you
want and tap on ‘SAVE’ to update your meal board.
4.2. Add a new food item:
» Tap on ‘+’ in the upper right corner to open the
NEW FOOD screen.
» Fill in the name of the food, estimated carbs &
select the serving size.
» It is recommended that you add a photo of your food,
so you will be able to remember and estimate it later on.
» Tap on the ‘V’ icon in the top right corner to add your
food to your ‘RECENT & ‘FAVORITE’ items.
» To add your food item to your carbs board, just tap on
the ‘+’ next to its name. The number of servings selected

can easily be changed anytime.
4.3. Save a combo meal:
We know that you don’t eat only one food item in each meal. You can group selected food
items into one meal, name the meal and select it in the future.
» Select all of the food items you want to add to your carbs board for that meal from
your recent or favorite items or from the database. When you are finished adding
items, tap on ‘Save as Combo’.
» Name the meal. The carbs estimate is already logged for you, but you can edit it by
tapping on each item and update its serving size or amount.
» It is recommended that you add a photo of your meal, so you will be able to remember
and estimate it later on.
» Tap on the ‘V’ icon in the top right corner to add a food to your recent & favorite
items.
» To add a meal to your carbs board, just tap on the ‘+’ next to the meal’s name.
» Tracking your physical activity is an important part of
diabetes management. The DarioTM extended activity screen
lets you track your activity. Tap on the ‘CALORIES BURNED’
arrow on the ENTRY SCREEN to open the ‘ACTIVITY’ screen.
Here you can select an activity to log, or sync with your
physical activity apps to select previous workouts.
5.1. Select an activity:
» Tap on the ‘+’ in the top right corner of the screen
and select the type of activity.
» Select the duration and intensity, and update your
‘CALORIES BURNED’. You can add as many activities
as you wish. Tap ‘SAVE’ when you are done.

5.2. Sync with activity app:
» For integrating DarioTM with your other activity apps, go to
the ‘EXERCISE PROFILE’ in the ‘SETTINGS’ menu. Syncing
with other apps will enable you to integrate activity data
directly into your logs.
» Select how soon following an activity you want DarioTM to
search and display activities from other apps.
» Enable your selected app by tapping on ‘SWITCH’. You will
be asked to authorize DarioTM by entering your login
information.
» An orange dot in the ‘CALORIES BURNED’ field
will indicate that a new physical activity was detected.
» Tap on the ‘CALORIES BURNED’ arrow on the ENTRY SCREEN to open the EXTENDED
ACTIVITY SCREEN. Then tap on ‘MY FITNESS APPS’. Tap on the ‘+’ next to the activity
you want to log, and it will be added to your activity board.
» All your recorded data is presented in chronological order when you open the app
‘LOGBOOK’. The blood glucose values are colored-coded according to the thresholds
you set, so you can easily identify trends.
» Rotate your smart mobile device to landscape mode for a more detailed presentation.
6.1. LIST:
The list section presents all your records in chronological order.
The list allows you to view, edit or delete entries and also to share
your information with your caregiver.
» Edit / Delete: Swipe the selected entry to your right and tap
the ‘Pencil’ icon for editing your entry. Tap on the ‘X’
button if you want to delete an entry.

» Tap on selected carbs or physical activity to display more details.
» Share: DarioTM provides you with a quick and simple tool for sharing reports with your
caregiver by e-mail or as an attachment to a text message.
» Tap on the ‘share’ icon in the upper section of the ‘LIST’ screen.
» Select the time period of the report you want to share.
» Select the sharing format you prefer. Colored designed PDF or a CSV file that
can be opened with appropriate software, such as Microsoft Excel, Apple
number of Google Docs
» Select ‘Mail’ for sending the file via e-mail or ‘Message’ for a text message with
the selected report attached. Enter the recipient’s details and the report is on
its way!
6.2. TIMELINE:
The TIMELINE displays all your blood glucose measurement results divided into different
segments of the day, with each segment presented in chronological order. The TIMELINE
enables you to identify trends throughout the day.
» Tap on any selected measurement ‘DROP’ icon to view all the entry details.
» Use the magnifying glass tool to view a specific measurement.
6.3. CHART:
The CHART presents you with your
blood glucose curve.
» Select PRE-MEAL / POST-MEAL /
BEDTIME to filter display of your
measurement results.
» Tap on any selected measurement
‘DROP’ icon to view all the entry details.

Your personal dashboard is your home base for assessing trends
and examining your statistics and to challenge yourself. Dario
motivated tasks will help you to go another step further with
your diabetes management. Balanced days are those in which
75% of your measurement results are within defined target
thresholds.
7.1. Statistics:
Tap on ‘STATISTICS’ to enter the STATISTICS SCREEN. Here you
can view all your trends, blood glucose measurement
distribution and averages.
» Select the time period you would like to view your statistics
for in the upper section of the screen.
» Estimated A1C will assist you to keep on track. It is
calculated from to your average blood glucose level for the
selected time period.
» Tap on a selected measurements distribution (such as ‘IN
RANGE’) to view a list of all relevant measurements.
» Scroll down to view the averages of your blood glucose,
daily carbs intake, daily insulin doses & calories burned.
7.2. Goals:
Tap on the ‘GOALS’ button to enter your
goals & badges list.
» To select a new challenge, tap on the ‘GO!’ button for the
selected goal. If you wish to stop the challenge, just tap on

the ‘x’ button. You can always try to accomplish your goal again and to earn your
DarioTM badge.
» Scroll down to ‘MY BADGES’ to view all the badges you’ve earned. You will be awarded
with badges for ongoing use of the DarioTM app or for successfully completing a
challenge.
» Tap on any selected badge to share your success and show off your badge on your
Facebook / Twitter account or to e-mail it.
Measuring your blood glucose regularly and on schedule is basic to your diabetes control.
But during your busy day, you don’t always remember or find the time. DarioTM will
automatically remind you to take a measurement 2 hrs. after eating.
» Go to the ‘REMINDERS’ menu and change the reminder time to suit your lifestyle.
Sharing is caring. DarioTM created the ideal platform for sharing, supporting and
communicating with fellow diabetics.
» Tap on the ‘community’ icon on the upper right corner in the MAIN SCREEN or swipe it
left to access the DarioTM community.
» Tap on ‘LOGIN TO TWITTER’ in order to view other DarioTM users’ twits and on ‘LOGIN
TO FACEBOOK’ to view DarioTM posts and tips. You can login to Facebook or Twitter
from your ‘PERSONAL PROFILE’ in the SETTINGS menu.
» You will be asked to authorize DarioTM by entering your login information.
» Once you’ve authorized DarioTM for Facebook and / or Twitter, you can view twits and
Facebook posts, replay them or share them with others.
» Composing a twit:
» Tap on the ‘New twit’ icon in the upper right corner of the DarioTM community.
Like any other twit, this one is restricted to 140 characters as well. You may
choose to include your last measurement result or different tags by marking the
checkboxes.
» Tap on the ‘V’ icon to twit. Your twit will be viewed by other DarioTM users all
around the world.

Share DarioTM with your fellow diabetics or caregivers and introduce them to the new
on-the-move mobile platform for diabetes management.
» Tap on ‘SHARE THIS APP’ icon in the DarioTM community. You can also find it in the app
menu.
» Choose Mail, Message or Facebook and add the recipient’s details.
The User’s web portal is an integrated part of the DarioTM diabetes management platform.
Tap on the ‘LOG IN’ button on www.mydario.com, and login with the same login information
you use on your mobile device. Via the web portal you can view and share all your data.
The DarioTM all-in-one mobile and cloud based diabetes management platform includes a
miniature glucose meter, disposable test strip cartridge and a lancing device incorporated
into a pocket-size case. For pre-order registration of the Dario all-in-one, tap on the ‘PRE-
