I am a member of the Gandhi Foundation, and I have been involved in a number of charitable activities to raise funds to improve health care in India, including donating all my books’ royalties to specific institutions there, such as the Arpana Hospital Complex north of New Delhi. I am a member of the Royal Meteorological Society. I am a patron of the road safety charity RoadPeace, and am a member of the related organisations Brake and International Traffic Medicine Association.
