August 2016 – Current: ORIE Peer Mentor/Instructor Assistant at Frostburg State UniversityKey Responsibilities:
Ensuring students are on time, provide work that is due and giving support when experiencing their first year at college.
Dealing with personal situations with my students, keeping confidential and providing a clear path to deal with their stress and other problems related to college.
Help students settle into college efficiently and pushing them in the right direction that benefits the most to them.
July 2016 – August 2016: Fridge Picker for Gist/Marks & Spencer’s WarehouseKey Responsibilities:
Dealing with specific stores that need certain items; being precise and effective is vital when picking for a major big company.
Maintaining a high pick rate within each hour and still being accurate without making mistakes. Making sure the atmosphere is clear to work in as heavy duty items are processed hourly.
December 2012 – September 2013: Sales Assistant and Administrator at Next plc.Key Responsibilities:
Dealing with returns on a day to day basis, making sure, all returns have been processed correctly and completing transfer for returns to be sent to the warehouse correctly in line with company policy and procedures.
Cashing up at the end of the day to balance the cash and cash equivalencies and reporting any shortfalls to management and rectifying any discrepancies. This would also involve staff training in using tills and handling refunds/ exchanges.
Maintaining a clean and safe environment in the stockroom and shop floor to ensure both customers and colleagues are safe - inviting a great shopping experience.
Producing excellent, eye catching visual shop floor displays, whilst maintaining stock is in the right places based on the shop floor plans.

A DDITIONAL VOLUNTARY
August 2012 – September 2013: Volunteer Lifeguard and Swim Assistant at Keech Cottage Hospice CareKey Responsibilities:
Maintaining a professional approach when assisting the teachers within the pool. Creating a friendly and positive atmosphere by providing aid and reassurance when on
lifeguard duty. Hoisting physically impaired and terminally ill children and adults who are in
wheelchairs in and out the pool. Providing appropriate and suitable swimming plans for the kid’s sessions based on their
needs. Adhering to all safety restrictions, in terms of pool and room temperature, pH scales of the
water and general hygiene.
M EMBERSHIP
• Swimming – I received my gold honors and used my lifeguard qualification to do voluntary hours at my local Keech Cottage Hospice Care, helping in the hydro pool with terminally ill children and adults. Moving to the United States, I joined Frostburg State Swim Team and swim 100m Backstroke and 200m IM Relay.
• In my grandfather’s town in India, I supported the children there at the local school he had built to bring them up to speed with English and also helped them with other sporting activities like swimming, badminton, volleyball and rounder’s.
• Rugby – I played for the East Midlands women’s county rugby team and for my local team, Herts Girls Rugby, where I became the captain for the team. While studying at university in the UK, I played for De Montfort University where I played fly half. We won the league for the first time in 12 years. At my High School, I was selected as Captain of the sports team and received the Sportswoman of the Year award at the end of year.
