ADORATION
Prelude
Call to Worship | Psalm 65:1-8
Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion, and to you shall vows be performed. O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come. When iniquities prevail against me, you atone for our transgressions.
Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple!
By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness, O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas; the one who by his strength established the mountains, being girded with might; who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples, so that those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs.
You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy.

CONFESSION
Call to Confession | Jer. 17:5-6, 9-10 Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the LORD. He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? “I the LORD search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”

Assurance of Pardon |Jeremiah 31:10-14 and Isaiah 51:11 “Hear the word of the Lord, O nations, and declare it in the coastlands far away; say, ‘He who scattered Israel will gather him, and will keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.’ For the Lord has ransomed Jacob and has redeemed him from hands too strong for him. They shall come and sing aloud on the height of Zion, and they shall be radiant over the goodness of the Lord, over the grain, the wine, and the oil, and over the young of the flock and the herd; their life shall be like a watered garden, and they shall languish no more. Then shall the young women rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old shall be merry. I will turn their mourning into joy; I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow. I will feast the soul of the priests with abundance, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, declares the Lord.”
And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

FORMATION & COMMISSION
Catechesis | Heidelberg Catechism: Q 1: Christian, what is your only hope in life and death? A: That I am not my own, but belong with body and soul, both in life and in death, to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has set me free from all the power of the devil. He also preserves me in such a way that without the will of my heavenly Father not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, all things must work together for my salvation. Therefore, by his Holy Spirit he also assures me of eternal life and makes me heartily willing and ready from now on to live for him.

Doxology Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise him, all creatures here below: Praise him above, ye heav’nly host: Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen. Thomas Ken, 1709 | Louis Bourgeon’s Genevan Psalter, 1551
Sermon Seeing Through Love Not Law #2 Rev. Eric Irwin
Celebration of The Lord’s Supper| Matt. 26:20-29
Prayer of Spiritual Communion Lord Jesus Christ, on the night on which you were betrayed, you prayed that we might be one, even as you and the Father are one. Though we cannot now share in the loaf in which we who are many are one Body, there is nevertheless one Body and one Spirit — one Lord, one faith, one baptism — one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. We look forward to that day when you gather us again in full communion with one another, and until then we entrust ourselves to you. We pray this day of separation and waiting will lead soon to another day of fellowship and rejoicing, remembering that here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come, for we ask it in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Sung Response
May the grace of Christ our Savior And the Father’s boundless love With the Holy Spirit’s favor Rest upon us from above.
Thus may we abide in union With each other and the Lord And possess in sweet communion Joys which earth cannot afford.

The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

Sung Response
This is my Father's world: O let me ne'er forget That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the Ruler yet. This is my Father's world: the battle is not done; Jesus who died shall be satisfied, and earth and heav’n be one. Maltbie D. Babcock, 1901/CCLI#1095616.
