    Lean ma nufacturing

An absolute point of excellence that set

Itema apart from competition a re the

    brilliants results of lean manufacturing,

    implemented in all the manufacturing

    facilities of the Company.

In detail, “ Lean” is an approach to

    manufacturing and, more specifically,

operations that covers several aspects of

logistic and production organizations, resulting in a w ide rang e of tools and

    methods.

    Working in textile equipment business,

the metaphor with a suit is allowed: to get

the best outfit, it is not enoug h to make a

choice of the proper dress (tools and

methods), but it is necessary to apply any

required adjustment to make the garment fit

perfectly w ith our body (tha t means one

should apply right tools and methods inside

the o rganization to g et the expected results).

One o f the key factors for Itema to

successfully compete on the market is the

capability to shorten the lead time to deliver

products to our customers. Moreover, the

ability to produce a quick response to market

changes, i.e. flexibility, and the efficiency and effectiveness of

operations, ha ve been defined a s undeniable assets to let our company

    be able to challenge competitors.

Starting from this “ Name of the Ga me,” since February 2013 the

lean journey of Itema has started, covering both Italian a nd Chinese

facilities. The very first lean experiences have been implemented in the

Colzate plant, a iming to create a continuous flow of material and value

    through our processes.

Following a continuous improvement approach, Itema set new

standa rds of production system that have been used to g et quick

results also in the other Group’s plants.

Each Kaizen project the company carries out has specific targets,

based on the key issues of the process Itema is focusing on. But one is

the leitmotiv: to g et the soundest and most effective processes. This

means that - no matter if it is about re-engineering an assembly

process or optimizing a working cycle on automatic machines - the

very last goa l is to gua rantee the highest qua lity standards of our

operations. To get such challenging results, Itema focus on the identification and

elimination of a ll the non-value added activities, i.e. wastes and losses. In

this way Itema is able to concentrate on the improving and optimization

only of the activities that really deliver value to its valuable customer.

Itema is following a path of growth, with the final goal to exceed

customers’ expecta tions. The Itema innovat ions can be seen at ITMA at

stand H1-A101. Itema is represented in Pakistan by Noon International
