Why do we allocate so much of our time to communication?

Why are emoji’s so popular?


With new social media introduced things like emoji’s, GIFs and pictures to communicate emotions on a deeper level.

GIFs stand for ‘Graphics interchange format’ and we may love them because they cater to our impatience with longer videos and our love for moving images.


They can be watched in a few seconds and suck viewers in via their looping fashion.


GIFs tie in our nostalgia and highlight characters and shows from the 90s & 00s, making them popular among college students.
