伯爵と光子。客たちの合唱に合わせてワルツが続

く。

（優雅にワルツを踊る光子。そのドレスの裾をゾ

フィーが故意に踏み、光子は転倒しそうになるが、

ハインリヒが支え、舞踏の輪から連れ出す。舞踏は

中断し、光子に注目が集まる）

Mitsuko dances waltz gracefully.

Sophie intentionally steps on Mitsuko’s long dress and

Mitsuko almost falls.

Henrich catches her and leads her outside of the crowd.

Everyone stops dancing and focuses on Mitsuko)

【第二場】「悪の誘惑」 Scene 2 Devil's Advocate

ダミアン、ゾフィー Damian、Sophie ダミアン、ゾフィー Damian, Sophie

夜会が終わり、鎮まりかえった広間。ダミアンが独

り酒を飲み続けている。奥の長椅子にゾフィー。そ

の手に小銃を隠し持っている。

The party is over and the grand hall is quiet. Damian keeps

drinking and Sophie sits on a long chair caching a gun in her

hand.

ダミアン Damian （独白）完敗だ！ kanpai da!

兄にはどうしてもかなわない。 ani niwa doushitemo kanawanai.

一族の中心で賞賛を浴び、 ichizoku no chuushin de shousan o abi,

輝いているのは、いつも兄。 kagayaiteirunowa, itsumo ani.

Count Heinrich, Mitsuko, Damian, Sophie and Barbick

数日後の夜。ハインリヒ伯爵の書斎。膨大な量の蔵

書が並ぶ書棚。暖炉の前に火掻き棒。ひとり執筆中

のハインリヒ伯爵。そこへ、光子がお茶を持って

入ってくる。

A few nights later

Count Heinrich is writing alone in his study with numerous

books on the shelves and a fire poker in front of the fire

place

Mitsuko comes in with a cup of tea.

Damian's wrist with the fire poker used as a Naginata

sword.

Damian drops the gun when the gun accidentally opens a

fire and the bullet hits the wall. Mitsuko picks up the gun

and hands it over to her husband. )

（ハインリヒも光子の両頬にキスをして優しく抱擁

する。両親の長い抱擁を子供たちは嬉しそうに眺め

ているが、やがて待ちきれなくなる）

Heinrich kisses Mitsuko’s cheeks and hugs her gently.

Children happily watch their parents’ long hug, but become

impatient.)

子供たち Children ママ、ママ、お部屋で本を。 mama, mama, oheyade hon o. Mama, Mama, please read us the book in our room.

（光子、子供たち退場。リヒャルトが父を介助しよ

うとする）

(Mitsuko and Children leave. Richard attempts to help him

up. )

ハインリヒ Heinrich 大丈夫だ。 daijoubu da

もう少しだけ書いてから。 mousukoshidake kaitekara.

リヒャルト Richard はい、パパ。 hai, papa. I understand, Papa.

（机に向かうハインリヒ。リヒャルトは父の姿を尊

敬の目で見つめる）

Heinrich starts writing while Richard looks at his father in

awe.

リヒャルト Richard （書斎を出た所で）

人の心の奥に潜む恐ろしい魔物。 hitono kokorono okuni hisomu osoroshii mamono.

家族が去って書斎で独りになったハインリヒ伯爵。Count Heinrich is alone in his study after the family

members leave the room.

ハインリヒ Heinrich 初めて逆らったな、バービック。 hajimete sakarattana, Bābikku.

こんな早朝にわざわざ、 konna souchouni wazawaza,

医者を呼びに行くなんて…… isha o yobiniiku nante……

わかっている、もう手遅れだ。 wakatteiru, mouteokureda.

どうせ長くない命なら、 douse nagakunai inochinara,

病院に縛り付けられるより byouin ni shibaritsukerareruyori

いまわの際まで書き綴りたい。 imawanokiwa made kakitsuzuritai.

ベッドで看取られるのもごめんだ。最期までペンを

取らせてくれ。

貴族として、領主として、 kizoku toshite, ryoushu toshite,

外交官として、研究者として、 gaikoukan toshite, kenkyuusha toshite,

私の人生は夢のように過ぎたが、 watashi no jinsei wa yumeno youni sugitaga,

今は一介の作家として、 imawa ikkai no sakka toshite,

世界のために身を捧げ sekai notameni mi o sasage

書きながら逝きたい。 kakinagara yukitai.

（渾身の思いで書き綴るハインリヒ。窓から差し込

む光は、次第に明るくなり、天上からの招待のよう

に彼を照らしている）

(Heinrich keeps writing by using his last strength.

Light through the window is getting brighter and shines on

him as if it is an invitation from heaven.)

ハインリヒ Heinrich（書き続けていたが、力尽き、ペンを置く）これま

でか？koremadeka?

この遺作はリヒャルトに託す。 kono isaku wa Rihyaruto ni takusu.

（朝の小鳥たちの囀り。ハインリヒ伯爵にはその中

に光子の[花々と鳥たちのヴォカリーズ]も聴こえ

世界のため？　いや、 sekai notame? iya,

Count Henrich continues under heavenly light and dies

facing down on his desk with a pen in his hand.)
