Chun-Yen Hsieh’s Portfolio 2008 - 2010

ABOUT

不穩定結構在土木工程中代表著危險且

須避免的有害狀況，然而在設計界裡，

我認為可以將此名詞想像為能打破陳規

的設計思考方式。因此在這本從土木背

景轉到設計背景的第一本正式作品集中

，我以此命名希望往後能夠產生出更多

跳脫思維的設計。

Unstable Structure is a proper noun in

civil engineering which means

dangerous and the situation must to

avoid. But I think it can be a convention

Breaking thinking way for design, so I

choose this name to my first formal

portfolio from civil engineering to

design. Wish I can bring out more

design ideas that beyond common

sense thinking.

為了教育並提醒兒童節約用電，本概念將無形的電流概念轉

化為較容易理解的水流概念，並直接放置於電器旁，讓兒童

使用完電器後能方便關閉，另一方面也可免去接觸家中插座

的危險。所使用之電費將會直接顯示在螢幕上，因此兒童可

以容易理解到浪費電力等於浪費金錢。

In order to educate our children economize the use of

electricity. The concept of CLOSER is to turn the intangible

electric current into the easy understanding water current.

And put near by the electric appliances, children can turn

the power off easily after use and avoid the dangerous of

touching socket. The bill of electricity will display on the

screen and children can easily understand electric waste is

money waste.

設計概念(Concept)

節約用電是環保的基礎，但是通常兒童並

不瞭解浪費電的嚴重性，另一方面一般的

插座通常安裝於角落或地板，平常用完電

器很難記得去將插頭拔出，因而浪費了許

多待機電力，且兒童接觸插座時也很容易

發生觸電危險。

The basis of environmental protection is

to economize the electricity. In most

situations, the children do not understand

the seriousness of wasting electricity. The

other hand, the sockets usually install on

the floor or in the corner. It will be easily

forgot to pull out the plug. Much of the

standby power is wasted in the case. And

it’s very dangerous to touch the socket.

1.選擇所需放置的方式(站立,平躺,或插上變壓

器)並將右側可伸縮式插頭拉出所需長度後插

上家中插座。

1. Chose the place state you need, and draw

out the plug with retractable line and plug in

the socket.

2.調整開關至適當位置，當開關轉動時螢幕

也將一起轉動，並將插頭插上。

2. Adjust the switch to the suitable place,

and the screen will rotate in the same time,

then plug in the socket.

3.打開水龍頭開關以開啟電源，此時將開始

計算電費。

在夜晚時，我們不論在任何地點從事任何活動皆需要光線的

照明，而當我們在家中須要從此處到彼處時，我們就必須先

關掉此處的燈光，再開啟彼處的燈光，許多能源就耗費於這

些開啟關閉之間，更別說我們還可能會忘記關掉燈光。在本

概念中希望能讓家中光源變成可攜式，且可以吸附於窗戶或

書櫃等平滑表面，不需要另行開啟其他燈光即可在所需地點

從事活動，不僅便利也達到了環保的功效。

In the night we need the light when doing anything in

everywhere. When we want to go around at home. We

need to turn off the light where we stayed and turn on the

light where we will be in. Lots of energy is wasted between

the actions. Even if we may forget to turn off the unused

light. The concept of cupule light is to make people bring

the light everywhere you need. It can stick on flat surface

like windows or bookshelves. You don’t need to turn on

extra light and can do activities everywhere you want.

家中燈光經常開關很容易造成燈泡

壽命減低，而且燈亮時瞬間啟動的

電流也會增加額外的能源浪費，一

般家庭通常都會裝設複數以上的光

源，因此當我們在家中走動時不僅

會浪費啟動時的能源，也有可能忘

記關閉電源。

Turn on/off the lights frequently will

reduce the life of light bulbs, and it

will bring extra electric waste when

switching on lights. Normally

general family will install plurality of

lights, so when we walk around at

home may not only waste the

electric of switching on lights but

also forget to turn off the light.

自古以來槓桿原理就被運用在許多用具中，而在科技進步的

現代，許多產品都已被逼迫走向數位化一路，運用簡單原理

而設計的產品越來越少。本概念透過槓桿原理的方式，達到

同時量測並擷取所需重量的功能，希望能以最簡單的方式準

確量測中藥或是調味料等物品的份量。

Lever Principle has applied to many tools. In the era of

technology, lots of products are forced to digitalization, so

products designed by simple theory have much less been

seen nowadays. Using Spoonful can simultaneously

measure and get the weight you need. It is the easiest way

to accurately weigh the quantity of powder-like objects

such as Chinese herbal medicine or seasoning.

1.將砝碼移至所需克數位置，同時數字將因玻

璃折射放大而更容易閱讀。

1. Adjust the counterweight to the grams you

need; meanwhile the graduation will be

magnified due to the refraction of glass.

2.使用湯匙舀取藥材或調味料，並將彎曲處放

於杯緣形成支點。

2. Scoop the herbal medicine and put

spoonful on the rim of the container.

3.當湯匙內份量過多時會因重力自然下垂，方

便將多餘份量倒回杯中。

3. If there are too much grams in the spoon, It

will tilt and let superfluous grams flow out.

4.當量匙呈水平狀態時，湯匙中之重量即為所

需之藥材或調味料重量。

本概念是一款外層以充氣式橡膠材質包覆之登機箱，其外表

之充氣層會因為飛機升空時機艙壓力的改變而自動膨脹形成

防護，因此相較於一般硬式登機箱而言，擁有更加輕盈且更

能夠保護箱內物品之優點。

Air-Luggage is a boarding case which is covered by

inflatable rubber. The inflatable rubber will inflate

automatically because of the different pressure in the cabin

and ground. Air-Luggage is lighter than hard shell luggage

and has better ability to protect personal belongings.

遭遇亂流 Air Turbulence 行李碰撞 Luggage collide

我們出外搭飛機時經常會攜帶一些如相機或筆電等脆弱的物品，但當飛機遇到亂流或其

他可能碰撞到行李的情況發生時，這些脆弱物品便很可能損壞，因此行李箱的保護能力

是非常重要的。而在飛機升空至8000英呎時，由於大氣壓力的改變，氣體體積相較於

地面會增加30%，因此air-luggage的外層會自動膨脹形成防護。

We usually carry fragile things like camera or notebook when we go on a trip on plane.

But air turbulence or other conditions might crash this kind of fragile things. The

protection ability of boarding case is very important. The outer of Air-luggage will be

inflated automatically and protect things inside when the flight is in 8000 feet high,

because the volume of the same air is 30% larger in the upper air than in the ground.

本概念為在3D空間中進行的連連看遊戲所形成之椅子。組裝

方式為先以平板式壓克力構件組裝成支撐架，再透過連連看

的方式完成索網的配置。組裝過程不需要使用任何工具或黏

接劑，因此就算是兒童也能夠安全的組裝完成。

Do t to Dot is a chair fabricated by dot to dot game in three

dimensional space. The assembly method is to build a frame

by plate type acrylic component first, and complete the

cable net through dot to dot game. You don’t need a tool or

adhesives in fabricating process. Even a child can fix it safety.

椅面與椅腳分別以不同方式的索網結構配置，使整張椅子在

各部位的受力皆能夠以索網張力來抵抗，達到質輕並堅固的

目標。

Different type of cable network are applied to seat and chair

legs. The loading of whole chair is balanced by the tension

of cable network to reach the lighter and stronger purpose.

眼睛是靈魂之窗，而對於近視者來說眼鏡就如眼睛之窗，透

過眼鏡可以窺見世界。本概念藉由古今兩項的物品結合，讓

原本大家早已遺忘的中國窗櫺文化，能夠再次藉由新產品的

應用而得到新生與重視，也讓傳統文化所寓含的意義能夠發

揚光大。

The eyes are the window to the soul, and eyeglasses are the

window to the eyes for myopia. They see the world through

it. The concept of Mullion Frame is to combine old and new

article, and let people recall the traditional Chinese lattice

window culture. Hope it can get rebirth and attention from

applying to new product design. And let the implied

meaning from traditional culture be able to enhance and

glorify.

中式窗櫺又稱漏窗，亦稱花窗，是台灣早期房子以及廟宇常見的

建築結構，不同的窗型皆象徵著不同的寓意。本次產品應用的窗型

為「拐子錦」，寓意步步高升、前途似錦，而其橫直交錯的窗格也

象徵著正直與避邪。

Chinese lattice window known as leak window or flower window.

It is often seen in house or temple construction in early Taiwan.

Each type means different implied meaning. The type applied in

this concept is called “guei tzu jin” which means to get promotion

continuously and bright future. The crisscross shape on it also

means justice and to ward off evils.

透過眼鏡與窗的連結，希望人們戴著這個眼鏡的同時，能夠感受窗櫺文化之美，也藉

著拐子錦窗櫺的所含的寓意，希望帶讓使用者在看待事物上有更正向開闊的觀點與視

角，並帶來事業發展上的好運。

Through Linking of the eyeglasses and window. Wish people can experience the

beauty of Chinese lattice window. Also let people be more positive in Seeing Things

and get more luck in career by implied meaning of “guei tzu jin”.

世界上許多國家皆已邁入高齡化社會，高齡者人口比例越來

越高，而高齡者因老化所衍生的各種不便是目前社會上所必

須解決的重要議題。其中肌力衰退是老化所帶來的嚴重影響

之一，高齡者會因肌力退化而造成身體平衡感變差，與無法

大量施力，這就產生了在浴室時不易擰乾毛巾與容易因地面

濕滑而跌倒等問題。乾淨是一款設計於浴室使用之除濕機，

透過除濕排放的熱風烘乾毛巾並保持浴室地面乾燥，以解決

高齡者在浴室時的危險與不便，

Many countries in the world have gone into aging society

alreadry, percentage of the elderly in total population is

increasing. The derivative problems from aging are the most

important issue in society. Muscle recession is one of the

serious impact of aging. The elderly would be balance

deteriorated and can’t make large effort, those make the

problems of can’t wring towel or easy to fall down in the

bathroom. Dry & Clean is a dehumidifier which designed to

use in the bathroom. It can dry the towel through the dry air

discharged by dehumidification and keep the ground dry.

So the problem of the elderly in the bathroom would be

solved.
