Chapter 11: Jesus’ Second Coming Royal Procession 예수님의 재림, 왕의 행렬

OUR BLESSED HOPE: JESUS’ RETURN TO THE EARTH I. 우리의 복된 소망: 이 땅으로 돌아오실 예수님

Jesus is coming back to the earth to establish His kingdom. His coming is the ultimate event in prophecy A. and is referred to as our blessed hope (Titus 2:13). The NT gives significant emphasis to His return (Mt. 10:23; 16:27; 23:39; 24:27-31, 38-44; 25:31-32; Lk. 9:26; 13:35; 18:8; Jn. 14:1-3; Acts 1:6-13; 1 Cor. 4:5; 1 Thes. 3:13; 4:14-17; 5:1-6; 2 Thes. 1:10; 2:3; Heb. 10:37; Jude 14; Rev. 1:7; 3:11; 11:15-18; 16:15; 19:11-21; 22:7, 12, 20; Isa. 40:1-11; 59:20; 62:10-63:6). 예수님께서는 그의 왕국을 이 땅에 세우시기 위해서 재림하신다. 그의 재림은 예언의 최종적인 사건이며 이것은 우리의 복된 소망 (딛 2:13)이라 불린다. Jesus’ coming is in context to a military conflict around the city of Jerusalem. He will come to win the B. Battle of Jerusalem, which ends the Armageddon Campaign (it lasts for 3½ years). 11Behold, a white horse. He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war...13He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood…15Out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations…He Himself treads the winepress of the…wrath of Almighty God. Jesus will march through Bozrah in Edom (Jordan) killing His enemies on His way to Jerusalem C. (Isa. 34:1-10; 63:1-6; Hab. 3:3-18; Ps. 110:5-6; Deut. 33:2; Num. 24:17-19; Rev. 19:11-16). 1Who is this who comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah [capital of Edom], this One who is…traveling [marching] in the greatness of His strength?... 2Why is Your apparel red, and Your garments like one who treads in the winepress? 3I have trodden the winepress…I have trodden them in My anger, and trampled them in My fury; their blood is sprinkled upon My garments, I have stained all My robes. 4The day of vengeance is in My heart…the year of My redeemed has come. (Isa. 63:1-4) 2The indignation of the LORD is against all nations, and His fury against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them…6The sword of the Lord is filled with blood…for the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom…8It is the day of the Lord’s vengeance, the year of recompense for the cause of Zion. (Isa. 34:1-8)

Jesus will come to defeat the Antichrist at Jerusalem and then to establish His throne there. D. 31When the Son of Man comes in His glory...then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before Him...(Mt. 25:31-32) 17At that time [Millennial] Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of the LORD, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem. The second coming describesE. what Jesus does when He permanently “comes” back to earth. His second coming is by definition a coming to earth to accomplish a long-term mission. The rapture describes what happens to the Church when Jesus first appears in the sky. Some think of Jesus’ second coming as only consisting of the rapture of the Church. They think only of Jesus appearing in the sky to catch up His people that they may all return to heaven. Jesus is coming back to live permanently on the earth and to rule all the nations from Jerusalem. 재림은 예수님께서 영원히 이 땅에 다시 오실 때 예수님이 하시는 일들을 설명한다. 예수님의 재림은 정

JESUS RAPTURES THE SAINTS AT THE SOUND OF THE LAST TRUMPET II. 마지막 나팔 소리에 성도들을 휴거하실 예수님

The rapture describes what happens to all the saints at the time of Jesus’ second coming. He will catch A. up or rapture the saints in the air. Rapture comes from the Latin raptus, to “catch away.” 16The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout…and with the trumpet of God. The dead in Christ will rise first. 17Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up [raptured] together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. (1 Thes. 4:16-17) 휴거는 예수님의 재림 때 모든 성도들에게 일어나는 일을 묘사한다. 예수님은 공중에서 성도들을 들어올리

Jesus will rapture the Church when He brings all the saints with Him from heaven (Zech. 14:5). B. 13At the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints. He will send out His angels to gather the saints to the sky from the ends of the earth. 31When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him. (Mt. 25:31) 31He will send His angels…and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Jesus will rapture the saints when the last trumpet sounds (1 Cor. 15:50-52; Rev. 10:7; 11:15-17). The D. seventh trumpet is the last trumpet in the series of trumpets numbered by John (Rev. 8-9). 51We shall all be changed… 52in a moment...at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead [saints] will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (1 Cor. 15:51-52) 15The seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ…!” (Rev. 11:15) 예수님은 마지막 나팔 소리에 성도들을 휴거하실 것이다 (고전 15:50-52; 계 10:7; 11:15-17). 요한계시록

“In a moment” qualifies how fast each individual will be changed, not how much time it takes for the E. whole Church to see Him and be changed, thus completing the worldwide rapture. 51We shall all be changed…52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye… (1 Cor. 15:51-52) “홀연히”는 전세계적 휴거가 완성되는데 있어서, 얼마나 빨리 개개인이 변화될 것인가를 뜻한다. 교회

THE CENTERPIECE OF GOD’S ETERNAL PURPOSE III. TO JOIN HEAVEN AND EARTH 하나님의 영원한 목적의 중심: 하늘과 땅의 연합 9Having made known to us the mystery [hidden plan] of His will…10that…He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. (Eph. 1:9-10) 9그 뜻의 비밀 (숨겨둔 계획)을 우리에게 알리신 것이요… 10하늘에 있는 것이나 땅에 있는 것이 다 그리스도 안에서 통일 되게 하려 하심이라 (엡 1:9-10)

Jesus will establish God’s kingdom on earth as it is in heaven A. by joining the heavenly and earthly realms together at His second coming. This is an interpretive key to understanding the end times. Heaven: Supernatural realm where God’s power and presence are openly manifest. Earth: Physical realm where human process, emotions, and physical sensation are experienced.




재림하신 예수님은 하늘과 땅의 왕국들을 통일함으로써 천국에서와 같이 이 땅위에 하나님이 통치하시는

In the Millennium, the natural realm will not be suspended but enhanced by the supernatural realm of B. the Spirit. Jesus will rule the millennial earth with both natural human processes and God’s power. We see an example of this when Jesus appeared in His resurrected body to teach, relate to, and eat with His disciples and even to walk through walls (Jn. 20-21; Acts 1). 천년왕국에서, 자연적 왕국은 정체되어 있는 것이 아니라 성령의 초자연적 왕국에 의해 강화된다. 예수

IV. THREE TYPES OF PEOPLE ARE ON EARTH WHEN JESUS APPEARS IN THE SKY 예수님이 공중에 나타나실 때 이 땅 위의 세 부류의 사람들

The A. redeemed will be raptured during Jesus’ worldwide procession across the sky. 구속된 자들은 하늘을 가로지르는 예수님의 전세계적 행진 때 휴거될 것이다.

The B. reprobate who took the mark of the Beast will be judged and then killed (some executed). 타락한 자들(짐승의 표를 받은 사람들)은 심판받고 죽임을 당할 것이다 (어떤 자들은 처형될 것임).

The C. resisters are the unsaved survivors (Jews and Gentiles) of the Great Tribulation who refused to worship the Antichrist. The Scripture refers to them as “those who are left” or “who remain” (Isa. 4:3; 10:20; 11:11, 16; 49:6; 65:8; 66:19; Jer. 31:2; Ezek. 20:38-42; 36:36; 39:9-10; Dan. 12:1; Amos 9:9-10; Joel 2:32; Zech. 9:7; 12:14; 13:8; 14: 16). THE SECOND COMING PROCESSION: 3 STAGES (30 DAYS) V. 재림 행진: 3단계 (30 일)

Jesus’ coming is a procession because He will come with A. all the saints (1 Thes. 3:13) and all the angels (Mt. 25:31) as He travels on clouds across the whole earth for all to see (Mt. 24:30). He will raise the dead in Christ and then rapture believers who are alive. He will come with the Father’s glory (Mt. 16:27), great power (Mk. 13:26) and flaming fire (2 Thes. 1:8) as He travels across the sky with the brightness and energy of lightning (Mt. 24:27). He will descend from heaven with a shout, the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God (1 Thes. 4:14-16). The sun and moon will be darkened as the stars fall and the very heavens are shaken (Mt. 24:29). Jesus’ royal procession in the sky on clouds will be seen by all (Rev. 1:7; Mt. 24:27, 30; 26:64) 예수님의 재림은 행진이다. 왜냐하면 그가 구름을 타고 모든 이들이 볼 수 있도록 이 땅 전체를 가로질

The second coming procession involves a B. 3-stage process including many events occurring over a 30-day period which can be seen by comparing the 1,260-day (3½ year) time frame in Rev. 11:2-3; 12:6, 14; 13:5; Dan. 7:25; 9:27; 12:7 with the 1,290 days of Dan. 12:11. (See IHOP.org).

Stage #1: Jesus’ procession 1. across the sky to rapture the church (Mt. 24:30-31; Rev. 1:7).|

Stage #2: Jesus’ procession 2. on the land traveling through Jordan to Jerusalem (Isa. 63:1-6; 34:6-8; 19:20; Hab. 3:3-5, 12-13; Mic. 2:12-13; Ps. 45:3-5; 68:24, 29-33; 110:5-6).

Stage #3: Jesus’ procession 3. into Jerusalem and then to the Mount of Olives. 예수님의 재림 행진은 3 단계 과정으로 이루어진다. 이 과정은 30일 동안 일어나는 많은 일들을 포

Jesus’ procession begins in the sky at the 7th trumpet (Rev. 11:15; 1 Cor. 15:52) as He raptures the Church and ends on the earth after the 7th bowl, with victory over the Antichrist as Jesus makes His triumphal entry into Jerusalem (Rev. 19:11-21; Zech. 12:1-13:6; 14:1-9). 요약: 예수님의 행진은 7번째 나팔 소리에 하늘에서 시작하고 (계 11:15; 고전 15:52) 교회를 휴거하신다.

Jesus’ ministry was prophetically pictured by the Law of Moses (first 5 books of the OT), the Prophets, D. and the Psalms, which teach us about His first and second comings (Heb. 8:4-5; 10:1). 27Beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He [Jesus] expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself... 44He said to them, “...all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” (Lk. 24:27, 44) 예수님의 사역은 모세 오경에 예언적으로 그려져 있다. 예언서들과 시편은 예수님의 초림과 재림에 대하

VI. STAGE #1: JESUS’ PROCESSION ACROSS THE SKY: TO RAPTURE THE CHURCH 제 1단계: 하늘을 가로지르는 예수님의 행진: 교회를 휴거하심

The second coming procession begins in the sky when Jesus travels across the entire earth on the clouds A. at the last trumpet (1 Cor. 15:51-52; Rev. 11:15) as He raptures the Church. 재림 행진은, 마지막 나팔 소리에 예수님이 구름을 타고 이 땅 전체를 가로질러 오실 때, 하늘에서 시작

Jesus will be seen by every eye, every person (believers and unbelievers). This requires a global procession B. over every inhabited place on earth, including each remote island of the sea. 7He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. The rapture will not be a secret event, but a dramatic event, causing all the unbelievers on earth to mourn C. as they see Jesus with their natural eye (rather than by technology). They would not be convinced so as to mourn if they only saw Him by technology. The spiritual climate on the earth will be very different from today. Unbelievers who did not receive the mark of the Beast will be hard to convince. They will have seen many false signs done by the Antichrist and others. 9The coming of the lawless one [Antichrist] is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10and with all unrighteous deception… (2 Thes. 2:9-10) 13He [False Prophet] performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth… 14He deceives…by those signs… (Rev. 13:13-14) 24For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if pos-sible, even the elect. The angels will gather the saints from one end of the sky to the other after every eye has seen Jesus, who D. is traveling on the clouds. The rapture will be a process that takes time to complete. Since the earth is round, it is impossible for all the people on the earth to see Him at the same time. It will not be sufficient for Jesus to make one trip around the earth. He will need to be seen in each longitude and latitude of all the inhabited places on earth as He arrives over their region. 30All the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds… 31His angels…will gather together His elect…from one end of heaven to the other. What E. height and speed will Jesus travel at so as to be recognizable to all the people on the earth with the naked eye? His procession across the sky requires that Jesus be close enough to be seen and that the process is slow enough for each person (not raptured) to interpret what is going on so that they mourn. What they see produces awe and/or terror in them. 어떤 높이와 속도로 예수님이 오시길래 이 땅의 모든 사람들이 육안으로 그를 보게될 것인가? 하늘을 가

STAGE #2 JESUS’ PROCESSION ON THE LAND: THROUGH JORDAN (EDOM) VII. 제 2단계: 땅 위에서 예수님의 행진: 요르단(에돔)을 통과하심

Jesus will descend from heaven and eventually come to the Mount of Olives (Zech. 14:4-5). However, A. I do not believe this is His first point of contact with the earth. Jesus’ march into Jerusalem will involve human natural processes that are enhanced with supernatural power. The march progressively unfolds, including a series of events that could take place over days. 예수님은 하늘로부터 내려 오셔서 결국엔 감람산으로 나아가실 것이다 (슥 14:4-5). 그러나, 나는 이것이

Jesus will march through the city of Bozrah in Edom (modern-day Jordan) killing His enemies on His B. way to Jerusalem. Their blood will be sprinkled on His robes (Isa. 34:5-10; 63:1-6; Hab. 3:3-18; Zech. 9:14; Ps. 110:5-6; Deut. 33:2; Num. 24:17-19; Rev. 19:11-16). 1Who is this who comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah [capital of Edom], this One who is glorious in His apparel, traveling [marching] in the greatness of His strength?—“I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.” 2Why is Your apparel red, and Your garments like one who treads in the winepress? 3“I have trodden the winepress alone…for I have trodden them in My anger, and trampled them in My fury; their blood is sprinkled upon My garments, and I have stained all My robes. 4For the day of vengeance is in My heart, and the year of My redeemed has come.” (Isa. 63:1-4) 예수님은 예루살렘으로 가는 길에 원수들을 죽이면서 에돔의 수도 보스라 (현재의 요르단)를 거쳐서 행

The fact that the “heavens opened” (Rev. 19:11) describes how John received his revelation, rather than C. referring to where Jesus was most recently. In other words, Jesus did not get blood on His robe in the heavenly descent, but rather in the march through the land. 11I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war...13He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood...15Out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. Jesus will come as the “greater Moses,” who will release the bowls of wrath as He marches to Jerusalem D. in a way that is parallel to how Moses released the ten plagues on Egypt (Deut. 18:15-18; Acts 3:22). The bowl judgments have similarities to the ten plagues of Egypt (Ex. 7-12). 15As in the days when you came out of…Egypt, I will show them wonders(Mic. 7:15). 예수님은“모세보다 큰 자”로 오실 것이다. 모세가 10가지 재앙을 애굽에 풀었던 것처럼, 예수님은 예루살렘으로 행진하며 진노의 대접들을 풀어낼 것이다 (신 18:15-18; 행 3:22). 대접 심판은 애굽의 10가지 재앙과 유사하다 (출 7-12). 15이르시되 네가 애굽 땅에서 나오던 날과 같이 내가 그들에게 이적을 보이리라 하셨느니라 (미 7:15)

The seven bowls will be released immediately prior to Jesus entering Jerusalem to win the Battle of Jerusa-E. lem and to end the Armageddon campaign (Rev. 19:11-21). 일곱 대접들은, 예루살렘의 전쟁에서 이기고 아마겟돈 캠페인을 마치기 위해 예수님이 예루살렘으로 들어가시기 직전에 내려질 것이다 (계 19:11-21).

David prophesied that Jesus will dash the nations or destroy the social infrastructures of the Antichrist’s F. empire (Ps. 2:8-9; Isa. 11:4; Rev. 2:27; 19:15). The reason why such a severe judgment is necessary is because the social institutions will be deeply infiltrated by the evil seductions of Babylon whose influ-ence Jesus wants to completely remove from the earth. 8I [the Father] will give You [Jesus] the nations for Your inheritance... 9You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel. (Ps. 2:8-9) 26And he who overcomes…to him I will give power over the nations— 27He shall rule them with a rod of iron; they shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels… (Rev. 2:26-27)

VIII. STAGE #3 JESUS’ PROCESSION INTO JERUSALEM: HIS TRIUMPHAL ENTRY 제 3단계: 예루살렘으로 향하는 예수님의 행진: 승리의 입성

The final stage of the second coming procession brings us to the high point of world history. Jesus A. will make a triumphal entry into Jerusalem, going to the Mount of Olives and then to His throne in the temple (Ps. 24:7-10; Zech. 14:4; Jer. 3:17; Zech. 6:12; Ezek. 43:7). 재림 행진의 마지막 단계에 우리는 세계사의 정점으로 가게 된다. 예수님은 예루살렘으로 승리의 입성을

Jesus’ second coming will be in context to the Battle of Jerusalem. The city will be surrounded, resulting B. in half of it being taken into captivity (Zech. 14:1-2). The kings of the earth will gather to Armageddon as the military staging area to join the attack on Jerusalem (Rev. 16:12-16). 1Behold, the day of the LORD is coming... 2For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; the city shall be taken...half of the city shall go into captivity... 3Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle. 4In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives...and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two... making a very large valley... 5Then you shall flee through My mountain valley...Yes, you shall flee… Thus the LORD my God will come, and all the saints with You. The nations will gather to make war with Jesus (Rev. 17:14; 19:19; Ps. 2:2), who they will believe is a C. false messiah or an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14). 14These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them. Jesus will approach Jerusalem on a white horse after He completes His march up through the land, kill-D. ing the Gentile armies stationed in Jordan and surrounding Jerusalem (Rev. 19:17-21). 11Behold, a white horse. He who sat on him…judges and makes war...14and the armies in heaven...followed Him on white horses…16He has...a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS...19I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him…20The beast was captured, and with him the false prophet…21The rest were killed with the sword...(Rev. 19:11-21) 예수님은 흰 말을 타고 예루살렘으로 향하시기 전에, 예루살렘을 포위하며 요르단에 주둔하는 이방 군

Jesus will enter Jerusalem, arriving at the perfect time to rescue the remnant of Israel. Jesus, as the E. “greater Moses,” will split the Mount of Olives to rescue them, instead of splitting the Red Sea (Zech. 14:4-5). The Jews will escape from their enemies through a new valley created in the mountain. 예수님은 이스라엘의 남은 자들을 구하시기 위해 완벽한 시간에 도착하셔서 예루살렘으로 입성하실 것

이다.“모세보다 큰 자”로서 예수님은, 모세가 홍해를 가르듯 그들을 구하기 위해 감람산을 쪼개실 것이

다 (슥 14:4-5). 유대인들은 감람산에 생긴 새 골짜기를 통해 적(원수)들로부터 탈출할 것이다.




The pinnacle of the second coming processionF. is Jesus’ re-entry into the city of Jerusalem to be officially received by the governmental leaders of Israel as their messianic King. 39I say to you [governmental leaders in Jerusalem], you shall see Me no more till you say, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!” (Mt. 23:39) 재림 행진의 절정은 예수님의 예루살렘으로의 재입성이다. 그 때에 이스라엘 정부 지도자들은 공식적으

Jesus will be celebrated as the Son of David in a Hosanna coronation parade that is hosted by the leaders G. of Israel. The leaders of Israel will open the gates of Jerusalem to Jesus in an official declaration of Him as their messianic King after He rescues them. Because Jesus will suddenly reverse the tide of the war in the Armageddon campaign, they call Him “the LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle and the LORD of hosts (God’s armies), the King of glory.” 7Lift up your heads, O you gates [of Jerusalem]! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 8Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle [Armageddon campaign].
