What  is  Central  Loca4on  Tes4ng?  

•  In  Central  Loca4on  Tes4ng  (CLT)  consumers  a<end  a  product  test  held  at  a  specific  tes4ng  loca4on.  

•  A  CLT  can  be  held  in  a  shopping  mall,  school  or  church  hall,  restaurant,  tes4ng  lab  or  other  loca4on.    

•  The  tes4ng  venue  oDen  dictates  the  level  of  environmental  control,  as  the  respondents  evaluate  the  products  and  fill  out  their  ballots.

A  CLT  can:  -­‐  Help  control  the  tes4ng  environment    to  eliminate  bias,  such  as  product  evalua4on  order,  smells  or  branding

Objec,ve  •  A  global  quick  serve  restaurant  (QSR)  was  preparing  to  introduce  a  new  menu    item  interna4onally.  

•  In  order  to  efficiently  reach  mul4ple  markets  at  once,  they  intended  to  work  with  several  tes4ng  suppliers  to  conduct  CLTs  in  different  countries  to  conduct  the  tests.

Challenge  •  One  of  the  immediate  challenges  was  that  each  supplier  had  their  own  approach,  so  tes4ng  was  not  consistent  across  loca4ons.    

•  Comparing  market  response  across  regions  is  difficult  and  inconsistent  when  the  methods  and  quality  of  suppliers’  test  results  are  variable.

Implementa,on  •  By  using  Compusense  at-­‐hand,  the  QSR  was  able  to  create  a  single  test  (standard  ballot)  that  was  run  at  each  CLT  loca4on.  

•  Consistent  data  was  immediately  collected  into  the  same  database  from  each  loca4on.
