Technical Challenge (1) Well positioning

문제점 

  매우 얇은 oil column 두께 : 약 20m

GOC/WOC 불명확 

  최대 오일생산을 위해 트랩 내 mid-oil column에 

production hole을 위치시켜야 함 (목표 허용 오차: 1m)

  저류층 entry point의 TVD 정보 불확실 (±6.6m)

해결책- 굽은 형태의 pilot hole 시추 

GOC 와 OWC 를 관통하는 궤도로 Pilot Hole 시추 

  인근 Z-44 well 시추 시 9-5/8” casing 설치 후 pilot hole 시추 

  정확한 오일층 두께, GOC/WOC 경계층 파악 

Oil column 의 정확한 위치 

  저류층 압력 정보 획득

Technical Challenge (2) High drag force

문제점 

ERD에선 긴 수평 구간과 곡선 구간으로 인해 casing (or

liner) running 시 casing과 시추공벽 사이 마찰력으로 

drag force가 과도하게 작용함 

Traveling block에서 가할 수 있는 full weight 보다 drag

force가 큰 현상 발생 

Casing을 원하는 심도에 설치 불가능함

Technical Challenge (2) High drag force

해결책- Casing flotation

Casing 하부 공기를 채워 casing이 neutral buoyant 효과로 시추공 가운데에 위치할 수 있게 함 

시추공벽과 casing의 접촉이 줄어들어 마찰력 감소, 부드럽게 이동 가능함 

Casing 상부 mud column weight 로 casing을 밀어주는 역할 

Rupture disk

심도 도달 mud 압력으로 Floatation collar 내부의 rupture disk를 파열시켜 casing 내부 공기를 지표로 방출

  상부에  토크 허용치가 높은 큰 직경의 D/P 를 부착하고, 하부에는 작은 직경의 D/P를 연결 

  큰 직경 D/P 최대 허용치 기준으로 Top drive에서 surface 토크를 가할 수 있음 

  가해진 토크는 wellbore friction으로 인해 하부로 전달되는 토크가 점차 감소 

  최종적으로 작은 직경의 D/P 허용치 내의 토크가 전달됨 

6-5/8” D/P 는 wellbore geometry 로 진입 불가
