I teach exhausted caregivers — skilled and unskilled healthcare professionals and individuals — how to develop simple yet powerful habits for self-care so
they have the energy needed to get through the day without feeling depleted.
The definition of Caregiver is expanded to include anyonewho is assisting others to have a better quality of life.
• Self-Care is important to reduce the stress you experience as a caregiver.
• Self-Care is a form of preventative medicine that many do ineffectively for lack of knowledge or
numbness from stress.Consider this:• 70% of caregivers get sick and 50% of caregivers die before the person they are giving care to according to theNational Alzheimer’s Association.• 65 million people provide $450 Billion worth of unpaidcare to older people and adults with disabilities according to
the Family Caregiver Alliance.
• In the population of caregivers,there are increasing levels of de-pression, mental health problemsand burn-out.
