Dear Member ofthe AIBA Family,
As 2015 is coming to an end,I am very proud to see that once again we have made manyimportant steps towards the development of Boxing by carrying out very successful events in
the three AIBA formats: AOB, WSB and APB.
WSB Season V has taken the competition to anotherlevel, with the returning BritishLionhearts and China Dragons adding new depth to WSB, while three Franchises alsoemerged, as Caciques Venezuela, Morocco Atlas Lions and Puerto Rico Hurricanes allcompeted superbly across the group stages.

worked wellin bringing to the world the pinnacle of pro boxing, with unparalleledtransparency in professional boxing.

women's boxing worldwide.
On June 20-21, and after an amazing Regular Season dominated by Cuba Domadores andAstana Arlans Kazakhstan, both teams clashed in two days of Finals in Astana that showedthe best world boxing level. Astana Arlans Kazakhstan defeated Cuba Domadores tobecome the WSB Season V champions and the firsttime who crown two times the

Between June and July three major continental multi-sports competitions took place. Bakuhas hosted the first ever European Games. Forthe firsttime, European boxers from allthree

Atthe Pacific Games inPort Moresby, AIBA lived another historic momentfor women, as they have competed in theboxing eventforthe very firsttime in history ofthe Games. On July 7-9 the AIBA Executive Committee gathered forits annual meeting in Doha, QatarDuring this three day meeting the EC made many important decisions forthe future of our
sport.
In my position as IOC Executive Board Member,I attended the 128th IOC Session from July30 to August 3, which took place in Kuala Lumpur. These were very exciting days which
culminated with the awarding of 2022 Winter Olympic Games to the candidate city Beijing.
During the month of September a worldwide AIBA eventtook place in St. Petersburg,the2015 AIBA Junior World Championships, which saw a sensational number of 407 boxers of46 nationalities registered forthis year's edition, a significantincrease comparing to 2013Championships. This demonstrates the vitality of boxing and its development all overthe
world.
In October we gathered in Doha for AlBA's mostimportant event ofthe year:the 2015 AIBAWorld Boxing Championships. Qatar welcomed 243 boxers representing 69 countries, displaying the universal appeal of our sportin an outstanding venue with a first class
organization. This edition of #AIBAWorlds2015 reflected the dynamic development of boxingall overthe world and has set a true benchmark forthe upcoming competitions as we sawthe highest quality boxing, event organization, broadcast operations as well as manydistinguished guests, such as Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan and the Klitschko brothers.
Atthe Extraordinary Meeting ofthe AiBA Executive Committee on October13,the bid to hostthe 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships was awarded to the city of Hamburg, Germany.
While the World Championships were taking place, Doha was also stage to anotherimportant milestone in AIBA:the officiallaunch of HeadsUp!, a new initiative committed tothe health, education and careers of our boxers. The program aims at bringing awareness tothe boxers, their coaches as well as the Referees and Judges of AIBA.Itis an initiative to
promote education on several aspects of boxing, although with a focus ofimproving theathletes' style of boxing' where the boxers have to keep their heads up.
On November 29,1 proudly attended the ANOC Gala Awards 2015 in Washington D.C.,where two of our most outstanding Boxers, Ms Katie Taylor and Ms Jennifer Chieng were
awarded Best Female Athlete ofthe European Games 2015 and Best Female Athlete ofthePacific Games 2015 respectively.
Finally, we had the chance to witness three major APB Bouts, as K2 Productions' undercardsFirst, the unprecedented APB heavyweightranking curtain-raiserforthe hotly anticipated
bout between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko in the 50,000 spectators packed EspritArena in Dusseldorf, Germany. Later on in December, Kyiv's sold out Palace of Sports wasthe venue for a huge Saturday night of boxing in Ukraine, with Olympic Gold MedalistOleksandr Usyk's battle against Cuban Pedro Rodriguez headlining the event. Theundercard ofthe event saw two key AIBA Pro Boxing contests starring AlBA's outstanding
talent.
On a last note,I would like to emphasize that, with boxers' safety as AIBA top priority, ourdecision ofremoving the headguards in elite men competitions has proven to be the rightpath, as after studying more than 11,000 bouts all overthe world, ourresearch shows thatconcussions have drastically dropped and the number of cuts registered has also
significantly decreased. With IOC's final approval on this subject scheduled for March 2016,the positive scientific results shown in multiple medicalreports are certainly very encouraging
Now, as this yearis winding down, we can look atthe future with the confidence thatthere isno such thing like an impossible goal. Our achievements speak forthemselves. Thanks toyour continued support and contribution, AIBA has never stopped developing our sport. Forthis reason,I would like to encourage all of you to continue on this path in view of next year'schallenges among which the mostimportant are the Rio Olympic Games 2016.
Looking forward to seeing you in the upcoming events,I wish you a joyous 2016
Yours in Boxing,
