MBA What is BICIS?

A two-week residential program of activities • To acquaint you with the most up to date issues

of doing business in China through: • a structured schedule of seminars, case studies, group

work and negotiation simulations

• panel discussions/feedback, and

• visits to companies and key business and political institutions in Shanghai and Beijing

• To expose you to Chinese business culture

• To provide you with an in-depth understanding of “Eastern” and “Western” management practices

MBA Who can attend?

Enrolled IGSB MBA students who:

MBA students who have completed no less than 4 courses before 9th April 2014; or

Non-MBA students who have completed no less than 4 courses before 9th April 2014 plus three years managerial experience who have the specific approval of the program director

Note: Places for BICIS are capped at 30 Quota restrictions may apply

• as places per location and program are limited First come, first serve to MBA students who

have done 4+ courses before 9th April 2014!

4 weeks before BICIS 2014 you will be given: • A set of readings to complete before your arrival in

Shanghai • Discuss with group members about the group project

During BICIS Study Tour • You are expected to participate all activities and

complete all assessment items

Post-BICIS 2014 • Complete assessments by the due date

Be a good ambassador of yourself, your company and the country.

How much is it?

Course fee: Two MBA Courses (Local) Tour fee: $2,300

What is included: – All learning materials – In-country transportation & tour costs – Most meals and Tea breaks – Accommodation (Single room or Twin room in SH and BJ) – Compulsory cultural visits

• What is not included: – International airfare to Shanghai and from Beijing – Chinese visa application fee – Airport transfer on arrival – Tour fee to the Great Wall ($130) – Expenses of a personal nature

Travel Subsidy: A$ 1,000 The old criteria are: • That the student must have a GPA of at least 4.0 • That the student must have no more than 2 fails in

their current degree (ie: no more than 9 units of fail) • That the student will not be taking the study tour in

their home country Note: The travel grant scheme and eligibility criteria are currently under review. We will advise you once we get them.

BICIS 2014 Application Process

Act now! Places will be offered one week when the applications close;

Applicants who have completed less than 4 courses (with

program director’s approval), may be accepted subject to the

availability of vacancy and the approval of PD. Offer letters will be

issued via email by 29th Nov 2013.

To secure your place a non-refundable deposit of $500 will need to

be paid within 14 days when receiving the invoice.

Once your deposit has been paid your place on the course is

confirmed
