Detailed design of temporary bridge at Sudbury to permit the
demolition and reconstruction of a bridge over the River Stour,

segmental bridges of the Route 3, Country Park Section, Hong
Kong: spans up to 36m, segment weights up to 60t.
Independent check of two types (36m and
63m spans) of underslung articulating gantries
for the erection of precast segmental decks in
Kuala Lumpur.
Maritime temporary works
Construction and method of strengthening for sea voyage of
70,000 tonne concrete floating dock (tender).
Design of three cylindrical templates each with 4 jack-up spuds for
the on-shore pre-fabrication of 72 no. 22m diameter straight web
sheet pile caissons up to 27m long, at Freeport Container
Terminal II, Marsaxlokk, Malta, placed by 1,000 tonne crane
barge.
Cut and cover stations
Tender design for contracts C705, C706 and C708, for
Singapore North East Line.
Lead Consultant for the full design of Contract C705, Singapore
NEL, comprising two Civil Defence stations and a Crossover, built
by the “semi-top-down” cut-and-cover technique, and 1.8 km of
twin bored tunnel. Co-ordination of eight sub-consultants.

Design of deep tunnels for Central Expressway, Singapore (CTE
II), including a buried interchange with five slip roads, passage
under Singapore River and construction method and temporary
supports for Stamford Canal maintained over the tunnel.
Design of 500m long underwater Limehouse Basin section of
Limehouse Link tunnel.
Design of Value Engineering measures for remainder of tunnel at
Limehouse Link, to reduce reinforcement used (in original design
by others) by 12,000 tonnes and to accelerate construction.
Design of temporary propping to East India Dock tunnel and
alternative design for support of Grade II listed Dock Wall over
tunnel.
Design of 1,000m long 4-cell tunnel for MTRC, Hong Kong, for
contract C504 (Kowloon to Tai Kok Tsui Tunnels) as Lead
Consultant in Benaim-Meinhardt-Works (BMW) Joint Venture,
