During its final concert of the 2013-2014 Perform-ing Season, the Keys Com-munity Concert Band recog-nized the talents of local band students. Coming from four different schools in the Keys, these students rehearsed and performed alongside band members in the annual Young Musicians Concert.
Participating students: Key Largo School: Cody Steinmetz, Javier Correa, Jonathan Williams, Seamus Dougherty
Coral Shores High School: Evelyn Betancourt, Hannah Vinney, Joel Terrill, Katarina Wronka, KellyAnn Macrombie, Kyle Estrada-Clarke, Melissa Hutchison, Nelson Coffman, Zoe Warren, and Zakary Wronka.
Plantation Key School: Marco Fucaraccio.
Marathon Middle School: Sander Adames.
Zakary Wronka was awarded the Young Musician‛s Scholarship. Designated for a graduating senior who has performed in our annual Young Musicians Concert, this scholarship was made possible by a grant to the Band from a local foundation. A member of the Coral Shores High School Band, Zak is a stu-dent of Band Director Robert Sax. He will gradu-ate from Coral Shores High School and Florida Keys Community College, and will attend Florida Polytechnic University as a junior in the fall.
The Keys Community Concert Band will begin rehearsals for the next season in November, 2014. All band musicians who can play at a high school level are welcome. For more information, find the band on Facebook or call (305) 451-4530.
