DAMA Turkey

Giriş ve Kuruluş Amacı:

Veri Yönetimi Derneği (DAMA Turkey Chapter) bilgi ve veri yönetimi alanında önde gelen küresel bir dernek olan DAMA International’ın Türkiye kolu olarak faaliyet göstermek üzere 2012 yılı Mart ayında kurulmuştur.

Derneğin amacı bilgi ve veri yönetimi kavramları ve uygulamalarının etkinleştirilmesi ve geliştirilmesi ile veri ve bilgi yönetimi disiplinlerinin birer meslek olarak algılanmasının sağlanmasıdır. Bu konuda ürün ve hizmet geliştiren firmalardan bağımsız olarak ve bu firmalara eşit davranma ilkesi ile hareket etmektedir.

Bilgi ve Veri Yönetimi alanın en sıcak konularından olan Büyük Veri teknolojileri ana faaliyet alanı internet ve sosyal medya olan Google, Yahoo, Facebook ve Twitter gibi şirketler tarafından kendi ihtiyaçları için geliştirildi. Teknolojiyi bir iş aracı («enabler») olarak kullanan Finansal Hizmetler, Telekom ve Perakende başta olmak üzere diğer sektörlerde faaliyet gösteren şirketler ise bu teknolojilerin kendi alanlarında kullanımının yaratacağı potansiyelin farkına vardılar. Büyük Veri teknolojilerini iş alanlarında daha erken kullanmaya başlayan şirketlerin rekabet avantajı yaratması bekleniyor. Potansiyel bu kadar yüksek olunca konu hakkında çok fazla söylence («hype») var. Bu etkinlik ile amacımız Büyük Veri ile ilgili bu sis perdesini aralamak ve hem teknoloji sağlayıcılar hem de potansiyel kullanıcı kurumlar için beklentileri doğru şekillendirmek.

Krish Krishnan (Keynote)Krish Krishnan is the founder president of Sixth Sense Advisors Inc, a management consulting and independent technology analyst firm based in Chicago. He is a recognized expert worldwide in the strategy, architecture and implementation of Big Data, Text Analytics and High performance Data Warehousing. He has written a book on “Building the Unstructured Data Warehouse” with Bill Inmon and is publishing a new book titled “Data Warehousing in the Age of Big Data” and another book on “Social Analytics”. A sought after strategy consultant, Krish has implemented many large scale and complex Data Warehouse and Big Data projects. Krish teaches at TDWI and frequently speaks at many conferences worldwide on subjects related to the world of data including governance, management, architecture and design, deployment and implementation. Paul Flach (Keynote)

Paul Flach is the Vice-President of Enterprise Analytics at Stream Integration, Mr. Flach leads an international practice that covers everything from BI to Big Data and Advanced Analytics. In addition to providing consulting services, his practice has built "Big Data" solutions such as Stream Social Intelligence which binds social media to demographic and consumer expenditure data to identify emerging market trends. For over 10 years, The Data Warehouse Institute (TDWI) has relied on his expertise to develop seminars and speak at World Conferences on topics such as BI Strategy, Data Mining, Advanced Visualization, Data Integration, Data Governance, Data Modeling, and Performance Measurement. Most recently, Paul drew a large audience at the 2012 TDWI World Conference in San Diego where he presented a 2-Day seminar on Big Data and emerging technologies. Mr. Flach ran his own consulting firm for 20 years and built solutions including a clickstream analytics appliance which provides web analytics to clients such as Trader Corporation and Yellow Pages Group. He has also held senior leadership positions in large Canadian corporations, implementing Enterprise Information Management programs.

Mehmet Orun (Keynote)Seasoned IT leader, data management strategist, and architect, driven by finding effective ways to deliver quality information to decision makers faster and more efficiently. After developing and managing a robust master data management program as well as data architecture solution and services in a corporate IT environment, I now focus my effort to apply my experience to make data acquisition, integration, management, and use easier for business organizations, with a focus on data quality, as Director of Data Quality, data.com at SalesForce.com.
