A home away from homeAbout BIBI Norwegian Business School is a private, independent, spe-cialised university with more than 21,000 students from around the world. BI offers an extensive portfolio of undergraduate, masters, executive education and PhD programmes.
The university’s international programmes are taught at the main campus located in the prosperous city of Oslo, capital of Norway. BI’s specialised focus on education and research continues to propel BI as a leading business school since its foundation in 1943.

One programme – Three optionsThe Bachelor of Business Administration programme provides students the opportunity to tailor their degree by choosing a specialisation in the area of International Business, Shipping Management or Finance. Through the area of specialisation, students have the flexibility to combine core business concepts while developing in-depth knowledge.
Students enrol in foundational and core business administration courses during the first and second year. The third and final year of the programme is fully dedicated to the area of specialisation.

Career opportunitiesNick Edward started out as a BBA student. Five years after he first set his foot on campus, he graduated as the best Master student of the year.
During his time at BI, Nick excelled quickly. He chose the Finance specialisation during his Bachelor and after graduating he was accepted to the MSc in Business programme where he continued to tune his financial skills. As a Master student, Nick did very well and graduated at top of his class and as the best student of all graduates that year.
Straight out of school, Nick landed a job in the shipping world as a business analyst with the globally known Wilhelmsen Ships Service. His days are both hectic and challenging, but with the tools he received at BI he manages and continues to excel.

International businessSee the world from a different perspectiveThe specialisation in International Business (IB) focuses on developing, extending and honing your ability to plan and act strategically in an international business environment.
To support its international depth, the specialisation in IB has embedded a study abroad semester to enhance students’ ability to examine international business through a variety of lenses and develop a comprehensive perspective.
This specialisation will enable you to:• Cultivate knowledge and skills to compete effectively in the
ever-changing global business environment • Analyse various international business practices and determine
appropriate strategies for working across borders• Develop skills in strategic planning, decision-making, and

Shipping managementFrontier of knowledge and experienceThe shipping industry is a key component of the maritime sec-tor and is one of the most globalised industries. Norway is a leading maritime nation and BI has long traditions for teaching and research within the field.
The specialisation in Shipping Management is developed in close cooperation with the industry to provide you with up-to-date knowledge from the experts in the maritime sector.
The specialisation will take you through different types of ships and cargoes, markets and trades, contracts used and management strategies. It will teach you how closely connected the investment and operation of ships is connected to production and consump-tion worldwide. With this knowledge you will have unique career opportunities in a wide range of companies worldwide.
This specialisation will enable you to:• Understand how the supply and demand of ships affects most
aspects of our daily lives• Understand the different shipping markets and how they interact• Understand how efficient shipping and logistics is a key driver to

FinanceFinance at the heart of business globalisationThe Finance specialisation provides students with transferable skills that enable them to undertake leading management roles in all areas of the financial and business sector.
As globalisation of business takes place at a rapid rate, with finance in the heart of this process, understanding finance is becoming increasingly important. The skills you learn through the specialisation in Finance are therefore highly valued in the job market and career opportunities are vast.

Part-time work during studiesThere are good opportunities for part-time work for international students in Norway. Average wage is approximately 14 € / 18 $ per hour.
Bachelor scholarshipsCommitted to supporting and promoting the most qualified academic applicants to its programmes, BI has established scholarship opportunities. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic competency.
• The BI Bachelor scholarships are intended for non-Norwegian applicants not residing in Norway. The scholarships cover one-third of the tuition fee for each year of the programme. Total value: approximately NOK 65,000.
• The Shipping industry scholarship is available for students who plan to pursue the Shipping specialisation. This scholarship covers full tuition for the first year. The Shipping Scholarship may be renewed for the second and third year based on satisfactory results achieved during the first and second year of the programme.
