MENSAHE
Isang magandang pagbati para sa numunuo ng Sangguniang Bayan at sa
aking mga kasamahan sa Sangguniang Barangay ng Barangay San Andres Labak,
Atimonan, Quezon. Ako’y nagpapasalamat dahil ako ay pinagkatiwalaan ng aking
mga kabarangay sa unang pagkakataon na ako ay naitalaga bilang Punong
Barangay. Gagawin ko ang lahat ng aking makakaya upang makapglingkod ng
maayos at maisakatuparan ang aking mithiin sa pagpapaunlad ng aking barangay
sa tulong ng aking mga kasamahan lalo’t higit sa pamahalaang bayan ng Atimonan.
Hangad ko na maging maganda at puno ng pagkakaisa an gaming barangay.
Naway patuloy kaming gabayan at bigyan ng kalakasan ng katawan upang patuloy
naming magampanan angang aming tungkulin para sa higit na ikauunlad ng aming
Barangay.

TANGGAPAN NG PUNUMBAYAN
MENSAHE
Mahalaga ang kamulatan ng mamamayan sa mga impormasyon ukol sa
bawat barangay ng Atimonan. Ang magbigay ng konkreto at angkop na mga
datos ang layunin ng Socio-Economic Profile ng mga Barangay. Ito rin ang
magsisilbing matibay na batayan upang mabalangkas ng Pamahalaang Bayan
ang mga programang pangkaunlaran na ang mamamayan ang higit na
makikinabang.
Ang ating mamamayan ang salamin ng kaunlaran ng bayan kaya ang
progreso ng apatnapu’t dalawang barangay ay pinapahalagahan ng Lokal na
Pamahalaan ng Atimonan. Ang Socio-economic Profile ang testimonya na patuloy
ang pag-unlad ng ating bayan.

VISION
Barangay na mapayapa at maunlad. Isang may mga
mamamayang may matibay na pananalig at tunay na
pagsunod sa dakilang lumikha. Bigkis ng pagkakaisa at
pagtutulungan.
MISSION
Patuloy at gawin ang tungkulin, maglingkod ng tapat sa diyos
at barangay, para sa tunay na kasaganahan, kalakip ang
pagkakaroon ng malasakit sa kalikasan at kapaligiran.
1. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
KASAYSAYAN NG BARANGAY SAN ANDRES LABAK
Naitatag ang nayon ng Montes noong 1896 sa panahon ng panunungkulan ni Presidente local Vicente
Manalo. Pinangalanang Montes ang lugar na ito hango sa pangalan ni G. Jose Montes ang unang Presidente local
na umahon sa kalakhang nayon. Si G. Macario Marasigan ang unang Tenyente Del Baryo.
Taong 1898, sa panahon ng mga Kastila, ang mga naging Kabesa de Barangay ay sina G. Marcelino
Reyes at Modesta Urtal. Ang mga naging Tenyente del Baryo naman ay sina G. Diego Oriel, Jr. Humalili si G.
Lorenzo Reyes noong 1904 na sinundan nina G. Bartolo Epino; G. Daniel Urtal at G. Juan Urtal.
Sang-ayon kay Gng. Pilar Villareal, taong 1906 sa pamumuno ni G. Marcelino Amador binahagi sa
dalawa ang kalakhang Montes, ito ay ang sa kasalukuyan ay nayon ng Montes at nayon ng San Andres. Hinango
ang San Andres sa pangalan ng isang mistisong Kastila na si Juez Andres.
Batay sa kasaysayan si Andres ay matapang na pinuno na nanungkulan sa bayan ng Atimonan. Siya
ay ubod ng bagsik. Ipinag-utos niya na magtanim ng punong abaka, ang hindi sumunod ay hinahagupit ng palo at
sari-saring parusa. Utos hari ang kanyang ginawa at siya’y naging bukang bibig sa lahat. Itunuring siyang diyos-
diyusan at ang bawat nasasakupan ay susunod sa kanya. Dahil dito itinuring siyang “San Andres”. Mula noon
hanggang ngayon, bilang paggunita sa kanya, ang pook na ito’y isinunod sa kanyang pangalan.
Ang pook na ito’y bulubundukin datapwa’t kapatagan ang ibabaw nito. May mga mamamayan noong
naninirahan sa bundok at gayundin sa lugar ng labak. Noong 1883, nahati ang San Andres sa dalawang bahagi
batay sa mungkahi ni G. Eulalio Santander. Tinawag ang bawat bahagi ng San Andres Labak At San Andres
Bundok. Ang San Andres ay malawak kaya ang naninirahan ay tawaging taga-labak at kung sa bundok tawaging
taga-bundok.
Ang San Andres Labak ay pinaniniwalaang unang pinanahanan ng mga angkan ng Escritor at
Santander. Palibhasa’y likas sa mga tao ang magpakarami, ang mga angkan ng Escritor at Santander ay dumami.
Nagpasalin-saling lahi ang mga ito sapagkat ang taga-ibang nayon ay naakit sa tawag ng pag-ibig.
Palibhasa’y dumami ang mga tao, ang mga katahimikan at kagandahan ay nagkaroon ng mg
pagbabago. Kinakailangan magkaroon ng pinuno na uugit sa Barrio. Ang nanunungkulan sa baryo ay
tinaguriang “Cabeza de Barangay.” Nang mga naunang panahon ang paghahalal ng mga pinuno ay sa
pamamagitan lamang ng taasan ng kamay.
Ang San Andres Labak ay may kabuohang lawak na lupa na 638.3816 hektarya. May populasyaong
821. Ito ay napapaikutan ng mga barangay ng Sapaan, Inaclagan, San Andres Bundok at Magsaysay.
Matatagpuan rin ang mga kailugan, ilog ng Maihit at ilog ng Kinakatihan
Mayroon din itong kuweba na mayaman sa guano. Ang kailugan rito ay ay mayaman sa bato at
buhangin. Mayroon itong dalawang matarik na talon na dinarayo ng mga turista at mamamayan ng Atimonan
tuwing summer.
Maraming pagbabago ang nagawa ng mga namumuno sa San Andres Labak. Pinagsikapan ng mga
taga-nayon na nagkaroon ng sapat na kaalaman sa paghahalaman at paghahayupan. Dahilan upang umunlad
ang mga naroroon.
“Commercial Center” ng ika-walong distrito ng Atimonan at ilang barangay sa Padre Burgos, Quezon.
Dito nila dinadala ang kanilang mga produkto (farm to market) na dumaraan sa Sambat-Yawe Road. 80% ng mga
mamamayan rito ay umaasa sa kopra at ang ilang may magandang kapalaran ay nagsisipagtrabaho sa ibayong
dagat.
Bagama’t maliit na barangay ang San Andres Labak, maituturing ito na isa sa mabibilis umunlad na
barangay sa Atimonan. Mayroon na itong elektrisidad na siyang nagbibigay liwanag sa ilang bahagi ng barangay.
80% ng mamamayan rito ay kumpleto na sa mga gamit at appliances. Mayroon na rin ditong CATV na siyang
nagsisilbing aliwan ng barangay. Sa kasalukuyan, ang tower ng Bayantel, Philictel at Globe ay nagiging tourist
spot ng barangay.
Walang sariling mababang paaralan ang San Andres Labak sapagkat ito ay nasa pagitan ng Brgy.
Sapaan at Brgy. San Andres Bundok na may kanya-kanyang paaralan. Ngunit sa pangunguna ni dating Kapitan
Edgardo Valladolid, nakapagpatayo ng Temporary Day Care ang barangay upang ang mga kabataan na nasa pre-
elementary ay makapag-aral.
2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Brgy. San Andres Labak is one of the inner barangays of Atimonan , located about 6.5 kilometers away from the town’s poblacion and about 2.5 kilometers away from Maharlika Highway bounded on the north by Brgy Malinao Ilaya, on the south by Barangay Montes Balaon, on the west by Barangay San Andres Bundok and on the east by Brgy. Sapaan.
It has a total land area of __________hectares per record of Municipal Assessor’s Office composed of seven sitios-Sitio Tondo I, Sitio Tondo II, Sitio Bayanan, Sitio Maihit, Sitio Masayahin, Sitio Santol and Sitio Bosog. Topography of the barangay is mostly mountainous. Almost 82% of land is agricultural with prevalent soil types- sandy and clay soil. Definitive data were specified below:

3. SOCIO-ECONOMIC SECTOR RHU Survey of 2014, showed that Brgy. San Andres Labak had a population of 1147
with a computed population growth rate of 0.22%. There are more male than female with distribution revealing 72.10% of the total population belong to ages 10 – 59 years old;
19.79% under 1 year old to 9 year old and 8.10% belonging to 60 years old and above.
This shows that Brgy. San Andres Labak has more working population than dependent population.
School going population (pre-school, elementary, secondary and college) is computed at 32% of the total population and the most common religion is Roman Catholic.

82% or 523.8506 hectares of the barangay is devoted to agriculture. Major crops are
copra and vegetables. It has 114. 4960 hectares for irrigation system that contributed to the
production of farm products. Some of the populace are leaned to poultry production for
additional source of income.
