ANDALUSIA

THE LITHOSPHERE

The outer layer of the Earth is called the lithosphere, or the crust, and it is made up of minerals. There are many different types of minerals and rocks with different characteristics.

THE RELIEF OF ANDALUSIA

Andalusia is located in the south of the Iberian Peninsula and has an area of 87,597 km. The relief is varied and has great contrast. Its surface is separate into mountains zones, plains,and the coast.

RIVERS OF ANDALUSA

The rivers are an important part of the water cycle of the hidrosphere.They are formed from the precipitation and flow along the earth until they end in the sea. Andalusia has an extensive network of rivers with many dams and canals constructed to take advantage of the waterways.

ACTIVITIES IN THE PRYMARY SECTOR

In Andalusia few people work in the primary sector although agriculture and fishing are valued for their products.

ACTIVITIES IN THE SECONDARY SECTOR

The secondary sector includes activities related to industry and construction. This sector does not have a great effect on the Andalusian economy due to the minimal number of people who work in this sector and the products they create.

ACTIVITIES IN THE TERCIARY SECTOR

In Andalusiathe terciary sector or service sector is the sector in wich most people work (78% of the population). It includes public and private services, business, tourism and transport.
