    Function

ALD24VAV-LON is a room controller for wall mounting. It hasbuilt-in temperature sensor and two 0…10 V outputs for controlsignal to VAV-controller and heating valve actuator. Thecontroller has adjustable P- and I-time and input for occupancycontrol and CO2-sensor. There is also an extra 0…10 V inputthat is transfered as a network variable to the LON Worksnetwork. Settings are made using the menu system in thedisplay or by the LON Works network. Actual temperature andoutput levels are shown continuously in the display. All settingsare also possible to shift via the LON network.

SensorsThe controller has built-in sensor. Alternatively external sensor(Regin NTC 0…30°C) can be used. In this mode the jumperexternal/internal inside is reset. It is also possible to sendtemperature sensor value to the controller via the LON network.

SetpointIs set in the setting-level menu. The controller uses heatingsetpoint and cooling (VAV) setpoint. The settings are factoryset to 21°C or 23°C. If occupancy control is used there aredifferent setpoints in different states.

Setpoint offsetBy pressing [+] or [-] button on the front individual setpointadjustments can easily be made, without entering the settinglevel of the menu system (settable +/- 3K in 0.5 steps).

Heating outputIs possible to activate/deactivate via the menu system.

VAV outputFor connection to a damper actuator or VAV-damper controllerfor 0…10 V input. Minimum and maximum air volume can be set

in the VAV-damper controller. Minimum limit can also be set viaLON Works network.

Occupancy controlThe controller has an input for closing contact from the

occupancy detector or similar device. When presence isdetermined the controller runs with comfort setpoint for heatingrespectively VAV(cooling). If presence is not detected, thecontroller works in unoccupied mode, with reduced setpoint forheating and raised setpoint for cooling.

Via the LON network it is possible to control the occupancystatus in three states: Occupied• Unoccupied• Energy hold-off

Energy hold-offVia LON network it is possible to set the controller in energy-hold-off mode. Both outputs are set to zero and the roomtemperature is allowed to decrease to frost level (10 degrees)or increase to 30 degrees. Below 10°C the heating output is

activated and above 30°C the cooling output is activated.

CO2  sensor inputALD24VAV-LON also has an input for 0…10 V signal from CO2-sensor. When the CO2 level exceeds a preset level (factorysetting 800 ppm) the VAV output signal is forced to increase, inorder to increase the air volume to the room. The CO2-levelsetpoint can be changed via the display.

Display and menu systemTo access the menu settings, do as follows:

Press buttons [< ] and [>] continously for five seconds. The display shows the current software version. Then pressbutton [–] three times, the controller enters setting level andgives access to setpoints, control parameters etc.To send a service-pin message over the LON-network, the

buttons [>] and [-] are held down followed by a press on the [-]button. The display shows ”lon”. If a wink message is received, the display blinks between showing ”lon” and showing ”—” for10 seconds to indicate the physical location of the device. Seeoverleaf.
