College Park –Rhode Island College

Question: Should a second paving mobilization be included for the installation of surface course paving given the building renovations under separate contract may be underway at the time this contract is being completed.

Response: A second mobilization for paving is not required by Rhode Island College, but may be included at the option of the contractor.

Clarifications 1. The addendum includes bubbled revisions to plan sheet C-2 indicated revised location of the bollard lighting

at the building entrance and the addition of sheet L-2, Landscape Plan – Add Alternative.

2. Sheet L-2, Landscape Plan – Add Alternative includes the removal of invasive species, tree pruning, clearing,and restoration planting in the wetland and surrounding area between College Road and the College Parkparking area. This work will require approval by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management.Approval is still pending as of June 19, 2017.

3. A copy of the non-mandatory pre-bid list is included with this addendum.

4. An updated Bid Form is included with this addendum.

4. CONTRACT TIME The Bidder offers to perform the work in accordance with the timeline specified below:

• Substantial completion: September 30, 2017 • Final completion: October 31, 2017

5. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES The successful bidder awarded a contract pursuant to this solicitation shall be liable for and pay the State, as liquidated damages and not as a penalty, the following amount for each calendar day of delay beyond the date for substantial completion, as determined in the sole discretion of the State: $500/day.

Five Hundred dollars per calendar day.

This bid proposal is irrevocable for 60 days from the bid proposal submission deadline.

If the Bidder is determined to be the successful bidder pursuant to this solicitation, the Bidder will promptly: (i) comply with each of the requirements of the Tentative Letter of Award; and (ii) commence and diligently pursue the work upon issuance and receipt of the purchase order from the State and authorization from the user agency.
