The crocodile Hunter

Once upon a time, there was an underwater golden cave where the

crocodile lived. In the cave, there was a crystal that shone all day and night. Every crocodile that entered the cave would automatically transform into humans.

King Rampai, a devout old crocodile who did not eat flesh, had a son

named prince khojorn whose son was Chalawan.

One day, Prince Khojorn got into a fight with prince Phanta and prince

Phanwang. The fight ended in the death of the three princes. Then, Chalawan became the new ruler and there was no one who dared enough to challenge him. Chalawan had two crocodile wives, Wimala and Lueamlaiwan

The cruel Chalawan was drunk with power. He began to eat flesh and stop observing the precepts like his grandfather because he thought that he was the most powerful king who could do whatever he wanted.

On the land in the city of Pichit. There were two sisters, Ta Phao Kaew

and Ta Phao Thong. They were two dear daughters of rich man. One day, they together with their servants swam in the canel in front of their home so joyously.

In the meantime, Chalawan, the only rough around, went out hunting humans. It brought about chaos and fear to the city. As it was hunting, it saw Ta Phao Thong swimming and become so infatuated that it held her in its mouth and brought her down into the golden cave.

As Ta Phao Thong got conscious, she became stunned with the

beautiful cave and she saw Chalawan in the form of a handsome young man. Chalawan flirted with her but she did not love him. So he cursed her

with a love spell so she got under his spell and became his wife. Wimala and Lueamlaiwan, former wives, were dissatisfied but they

could do nothing.

The rich man got sorrowful believing that his daughter was killed.

Therefore he announced, “Anyone who find my daughter’s dead body and get rid of this crocodile will be awarded with half of my possession and will get married to the other daughter of mine, Ta Phao Kaew.”

After the announcement, there were numerous people joining. One of them was Kraithong, a handsome young man from Nonthaburi. He had studied the art of crocodile fighting from a very well-known master. His valor and magic were second to none.

One day, in his dream, Chalawan saw fire, flooding an earthquake in

the cave. He also saw that he was beheaded by an angel. Chalawan went to consult with his grandfather who told Chalawan that

it was a bad sign and that he should stay in the cave for 7 days. If he went out, he would be killed.

Having heard that caution, Wimala ordered her servants to block the cave’s mouth with rocks.

On the land in the city of Pichit, Kraithong used his spell to make

Chalawan feel uncomfortable. Wimala tried to console her husband. “Be strong, honey. It’s going to pass soon.” However, Chalawan could not bear it so it went out in the crocodile form. It appeared on the water surface following the voice of Kraithong. The fight between human and crocodile started. Kraithong Pierced Chalawan with the spear of seven metals which disabled the power of its diamond fangs. Chalawan was seriously injured although he managed to run away back to its cave.

Kraithong used the explosive candle to break through the water and

followed Chalawan. Wimala and Lueamlaiwan asked Chalawan’s grandfather for help but he could not, explaining that it was his own karma. As Kraithong entered the cave and met Wimala, the lady’s man flirted with her until she had an affair with him. When she regained her consciousness, she got very frightened that she ran into the cave and Kraithomg followed her. The already injured Chalawan got out from its whereabouts and fought with Kraithong until, eventually, he was killed by Kraithong.

After that, Kraithong brought Ta Phao Thong back on the land. The rich

man was so overwhelmed with joy that the hosted a wedding reception for Kraithong and Ta Phao Kaew and awarded him with half of his possession as promised. Also, he gave Ta Phao Thong to him. Unfortunately, Kraithong was in love with Wimala so he went down to the cave to live with her and used his spell to transform her into human even if she went outside the cave.

Ta Phao Kaew and Ta Phao Thong found out that their husband had

an affair with the crocodile so they went to reproach her. Wimala could not stand it so she transformed into her crocodile from and went back to the cave. As Kraithong learned of the incident, he managed to bring peace to both sides which was exactly when the happiness returned.
