Superintendent’s Report
September 8, 2014
Summer Thank You’s:
Central Office Staff• Significant shifts among existing staff• Learned a new position• Taught previous position to another staff
member• Learning to work with new Administrators• Expanded summer school, pre-K, and K• Many extra weekend hours
Summer Thank You’s:
Peck Place Teachers and Staff• Sue Lukianov – headed up the move back• MANY teachers and staff members worked
extra hours:• Wednesday – Friday evening; 8/27 - 29• All day Saturday and Sunday; 8/30 - 31• All day Labor Day; 9/1• Extra hours last week
Summer Thank You’s:
Custodians at each school• Cleaned the classrooms and schools• Re-cleaned several times, following
workcrews around the buildings• Labor Day at Peck – Shawn Murray, Kathy
Manley, Don Jewell
Summer Thank You’s:
Principals and Teachers• Hiring committees – 5 certs; many non-
certs• Reviewed many applications• Volunteered time for two rounds of
interviews• Arranged and viewed ‘demo’ lessons• Thank you to the Orange students who
participated over the summer

Reading Consultants• Led the Professional Development at the
three schools• Inventoried the Journeys program• Prepared teachers for the first 20 days• Ensured fidelity to the program from Day 1

AAs and Office Staff • Worked around construction crews • Accomplished a significant number of new
enrollments• Bus routes!• Changes in technology – email,
PowerSchool, security
Summer Thank You’s:
Technology Staff• Worked with Utility Communications• Cameras and monitors• Email conversion• New programs, new equipment• Peck!• Issues due to construction in so many
classrooms and areas
