    Recibo de seal (amplitud) del receptor de 3 ft y ampliada

    Recibo de seal del receptor radial (2 ft) con la amplitud mxima, mnima y promedio

    Registro Variable de Densidad (VDL), el cual se deriva directamente del tren de

    ondas de la seal del receptor de 5 ft.

    Mapa de Contorno del receptor radial, el cual se muestra en el ltimo track y es la representacin grfica de la respuesta de las medidas de los 8 sectores. La forma del mapa de cemento es una representacin de las lecturas de amplitud de los diferentes sectores.

    El Mapa de Cemento es una representacin visual de las condiciones del cemento detrs de la tubera. El cristal del receptor radial no es libre de rotar dentro de la herramienta, sin embargo la herramienta en s misma puede rotar dentro del pozo. Por esta razn, los canales en el cemento pueden rotar aparentemente dentro del Mapa de Cemento cuando se hacen corridas repetidas, y la representacin grfica no se repite exactamente igual. Cada sector individual es representado por una seccin del mapa de cemento. El nico factor bajo control del ingeniero de registros es el valor del color negro y blanco de la presentacin del registro del receptor radial. El propsito del Mapa de Cemento es ilustrar grficamente pequeos canales que pueden ser

    un problema. El Mapa de Cemento es una importante ayuda para identificar fcilmente problemas en la herramienta o en el procedimiento de registro.

    The CSS MRBTs electronics aredesigned and tested to operate at350F (175C). The Multiplex II istested to 375F (190C), allowinggreater logging flexibility. All CSSMRBT tools are pressure tested to20,000psi (137.9 MPa). The Multi-plex II is soak tested at 350F and18,000psi for 4 hours, demonstrat-ing the ability to withstand the mostrigorous logging conditions.

  • Alpha Oil Tools Guidelines for Running Wireline Set Bridge Plugs

    Use casing scraper before running any equipment in the well to remove scale and other materials from the casing wall. Any tool that is expected to grip the casing wall has to first reach the casing wall. Follow scraper with gage ring and junk basket.

    Always follow cleaning, redressing and operational procedures on the setting tool. Make certain oil levels in pressure setting tool are correct for the well environment involved. Take into consideration the heat expansion of the oil in your manufacturers guidelines that should be supplied with your pressure setting tool.

    Use the correct bridge plug for the temperature, pressure, casing size, casing weight and environment.

    Casing should have 100% cement bond before running plug in the well.

    Do not overtighten bridge plug onto setting tool. This action causes the slips to crack which leads to premature setting. Snug tight is sufficient for a bridge plug. The lock spring or nut, depending on make of setting tool, must accompany the tension mandrel to prevent plug from from backing off.

    Do not allow the setting tool weight to rest on the bridge plug after making up. This can cause the slips to crack.

    Help guide the setting tool and bridge plug through lubricators, wellhead and blowout preventer. When running under pressure raise tools to the top of lubricator before equalizing the pressure into lubricator.

    Running speed should not exceed 300 feet per minute to avoid fluid displacement cutting on elastomer. Should setting tool misfire, retrieve equipment no faster than it went in. Slow down for liners and other restrictions.

    Never set plug in casing collar or where milling has occurred. Always set plugs in static well conditions (no fluid or gas

    movement). Shock to the plug can result in failure. Warn service companies of

    the plug depth to avoid high impact collisions. When using the plug for locating purposes, be gentle and ease tools onto plug. Never place tubing weight on plug.

  • Pressure setting tool failure can result from several causes (ex: out of date power charge or bad o-ring). In the event that a pressure setting tool does not shear off of the bridge plug and you have to pull out of the rope socket, the shear stud will still part in a normal manner when the setting tool is fished out. This happens most commonly because the power charge did not put up sufficient pressure to shear the stud in the plug. The Alpha studs are made to shear correctly and are held to high standards of accuracy. When the fishing tool goes in to retrieve the setting tool, you can watch the accuracy of the shear stud when it shears, assuming that the weight indicator is not out of calibration. The shear values are listed as follows:

    When perforating, bridge plug should be protected with a

    minimum of ten feet of cement dumped directly on top of plug. Cement should be given sufficient time to set up before perforating.

    Perforating should not be done closer than fifty feet of bridge plug.

    String Shot - Back Off

    This wireline conveyed pipe recovery tool uses a precise quantity of explosive detonating cord to produce shock waves.

    The string shot-back off procedure involves applying left-hand torque to the pipe string at the neutral pipe weight (in neither tension nor compression). The string shot is then positioned at the pre-determined tool joint and detonated. The explosion produces much the same effect as an intense hammer blow and allows the joint to be unscrewed at the proper connection. The string shot-back off method has been improved through years of research and experience to increase operating efficiency without damaging the pipe string.

    In order to make up a proper string shot, the following factors must be determined:

    1. Pipe size, weight, and condition

    2. Depth of back off

    3. Borehole fluid type and weight

    4. Well temperature

    Factors 1, 2, and 3 are needed to determine the size of the string shot and factors 3 and 4 are needed for the selection of the proper fuses and detonating cord.

    A string shot can be constructed that will readily run through an ID as small as 19.1mm. It can also be run in the annulus to back off the pipe from the outside.

    Backoff String Shot: The service uses a pre-determined quantity of detonating cord to deliver an explosive shock to stuck drill pipe, the objective being to allow recovery of the pipe. The shot is positioned at the pipe joint immediately above the freepoint determined by the FPT tool. It is detonated with the pipe joint at neutral weight, and with uncoupling torque applied at the surface. The size of the shot is calculated according to the pipe size and weight, the depth of the stuck pipe and the nature of the wellbore fluid. String shots are also used to free drill pipe from keyseats, to remove corrosion from pipe (for example, prior to the use of chemical cutters) and to reopen existing perforations.

    JS-2 Retrievable Casing Packer

    The JS-2 Retrievable Casing Packer is a full-opening, set-down type hook-wallpacker that is applicable for use in a variety of well treating, testing, and TubingConveyed Perforating operations. The packers are available in 4-1/2 through9-5/8 casing sizes and feature a large internal bypass that provides a freeflow of fluids through the packer during running, retrieving, and circulating.This packer is ideal for use when high differential pressures from below thepacker are anticipated and utilizes hydraulically-actuated button-type slips toanchor the packer against upward movement.

    Setting the JS-2 is accomplished by rotating 1/3 right hand turn at the tool andsetting weight down. This one operation sets the slips, energizes the packingelements, and closes the bypass. Retrieval is accomplished by straight pick-up of the tubing or workstring that opens the bypass to equalize pressureabove and below the packer. Continued pick-up will retract the slips and allowthe packing elements to relax. The automatic J system will engage and allowthe packer to be retrieved or moved downhole and be reset.

    TRITON Tester Valve (TTV)

    The TRITON Tester Valve (TTV) is a continuous-cycle ball valve used to shut-in a well as close to the perforations as possible. It may be functioned openand closed as many times as required by the test conditions. Typical uses forthe tester valve are:

    Bottom-hole shut-in during drill stem testing to virtually remove thewellbore effects from buildup / fall-off test, thereby getting cleaner, easier-to-analyze data and significantly reducing the required shut-intimes, especially for tight gas formations.

    Safety shut-in valve for any situation where the workstring or treeconnection develops an integrity problem.

    Fluid-loss control tool when formation pressures are seriously under-estimated and the formation is taking massive amounts of expensivecompletion fluid. Used in conjunction with the Multi-Function CirculatingValve to adjust fluid weight, optimize well control and minimize formationdamage.

    The TTV is annulus pressure operated and has a single ball with seats oneither side so that pressure integrity may be maintained from above or below.Hydrostatic pressure compensation is accomplished by a nitrogen chamberand reference section that allows annulus pressure (fluid) to enter a port belowa balance piston on the way in the hole. This port is closed (and the hydrostaticreference trapped) when weight is stacked off on the tool, usually when thepacker is set.

    TRITON Circulating Valve (TCV)

    The TRITON Circulating Valve (TCV) is a differential pressure tool with 5closed positions (3 for Slimhole), 1 reverse position, and 1 circulating position.The tool can cycle through this sequence as many times as is required by thewell program. The TCV is used in conjunction with the Tester Valve for almostall applications. Typical uses for the circulating valve are:

    Reverse out tubing contents to remove hydrocarbons and debris fromthe workstring while the formation is isolated by the closed tester valve.

    Spot lighter weight fluid (including nitrogen) to create or increase anunderbalance to formation in order to surge perforations or establish flowin a drill stem test.

    Efficiently spot viscous pills to cure fluid loss to formation. (Spot pill tothe circulating ports close TCV, then open the ball valve to allow the pillto move to the perforations)

    The TCV cycles using tubing / annulus differential pressure to move the portedmandrel up (annulus > tubing) and down (tubing > annulus). This up and downmotion causes the index sleeve to rotate around the mandrel on the indexpins. After the specified number of limited movements (closed positions), themandrel is allowed to move into a long slot that allows the ported mandrel toline up with reversing ports. Fluid flow from the annulus to the tubing may nowcommence. When the operator is finished with the reverse position, pressureis applied down the tubing, the mandrel travels up into a second long slot, andthe ported mandrel is aligned with the circulating ports. When the operator isfinished circulating, annulus pressure is applied to move the mandrel into the1st closed position.

    Please notice that there is no rate dependency to cycle the tool; everything isdone with a low differential pressure (300 psi). As long as the tool has apositive differential in the direction of flow, the tool will remain open; to movethe tool to the next position, a 300 psi differential pressure is applied from theopposite direction.

    Single Cycle Ball Valve

    The Single Cycle Ball Valve is an annular pressure-controlled ball valve and isdesigned to be used during simple cased hole testing and perforatingoperations, where only one flowing and one shut-in phase is required.

    The Single Cycle Ball Valve is operated by a differential piston, controlled byannulus pressure. Annulus hydrostatic pressure at tool depth, plus desiredoperating pressure, is calculated prior to the Ball Valve being run downhole toensure the correct selection of rupture discs.

    The Single Cycle Ball Valve is run in the hole in either the open or closedposition, depending on operational requirements. When the tool is required tofunction, pressure is applied to the corresponding rupture disc which willrupture causing the tool to cycle.

    The Single Cycle Ball Valve is fully-balanced to tubing pressure and will remain in the position to which it was last cycled. By having this ability, the pressureon the annulus can be decreased or returned to hydrostatic.

    The Single Cycle Ball Valve can be run in conjunction with other annularpressure operated downhole tools and has only to be setup to operate at thecustomers required pressures.
