My Story in Canada

When I first came to Toronto for learning English, I attended special events with many international students at International Language Academy of Canada. Although I had much opportunity to communicate with other international students, I had not realized that students in that Academy are passionate about learning English than any other students in Korea. As I started to absorb in more English culture, I noticed that there are many students around me who have various thoughts. As a result, I started to practice English my best for my future goal.

I visited to Grand Canyon to eliminate my fear. I really wanted to enhance and reinforce myself by walking Sky Walk in Grand Canyon. Sky Walk is a cantilever bridge on the top edge of canyon allowing people walk on transparent floor. Although I have acrophobia, I had to make myself calm and confront the situation I am facing. After the completion, I felt that I can do everything and won’t be afraid of any challenges that are in front of me.

When I started to study at Centennial College, my first presentation was ‘Prison Studied’ of Malcolm X. His biography affected me how to study and overcome difficult challenges.

In the last semester, I met a kind professor, Jeffrey Butler. I learned basic of business and how to learn business skills in my field. He always listened carefully to my personal thoughts. This makes me more confident and therefore improves me.

Finally, I had a certificate of pre-business with All A+ of my courses. As I hung this certificate on the wall of my room, this reminded of what I did during that time and grained confidence whenever I see it. Now, I am continuing to study business for my future. I want to say myself, “You are great!”
