R o u t e rA router is a device that forwards data packets between computer

networks. This creates an overlay internetwork, as a router is

connected to two or more data lines from different networks. When

a data packet comes in one of the lines, the router reads the

address information in the packet to determine its ultimate

destination. Then, using information in its routing table or routing

policy, it directs the packet to the next network on its journey.

Routers perform the "traffic directing" functions on the Internet. A

data packet is typically forwarded from one router to another

through the networks that constitute the internetwork until it

reaches its destination node.

เป็นอุปกรณ์ที่ใช้ในการเชื่อมต่อเครือข่ายหรืออินเทอร์เน็ต หน้าที่หลักของ Router คือการหาเส้นทางในการส่งผ่านข้อมูลเป็นตัวกลางในการส่งต่อข้อมูลไปยังเครือข่ายอื่น รวมถึงท าหน้าที่ในการแชร์อินเทอร์เน็ตให้เครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์และเครื่องลูกข่าย บนตัว Router จะมีช่องที่ใช้เสียบต่อสายสัญญาณเรียกว่า LAN Port แบบ RJ-45 โดยทั่วไปมักมี 4 พอรต์ (ความเร็ว 10/100Mbps) หรือมากกว่า และ Router จะมี Internet Port หรือ WAN Port แบบ RJ-45 ส าหรับใช้เป็นพอร์ตต่อเข้ากับ ADSL Modem หรือ Fiber Media Converter เพื่อเชื่อม Router เข้าสู่ระบบเครือข่ายอินเทอร์เน็ตอีกที โดยปกติการเลอืกซือ้ Router ควรจะเลือกซือ้ที่ม ีLAN Port อยู่อย่างน้อย 4 พอร์ต เพื่อใช้เป็นพอร์ตส าหรับเชื่อมอปุกรณ์ที่มีแลนพอร์ตอื่นๆเช่น เดสก์ท็อปพีซี หรือ คอมพิวเตอร์ตั้งโต๊ะ พรินเตอร์ ที่เชื่อมต่อเน็ตเวิร์ก อุปกรณ์ NAS หรือ เน็ตเวิร์ก สตอเรจ นอกจากน้ีหากคุณผู้หญิงต้องการใช้งานระบบเครือข่ายไร้สายด้วยก็ควรจะซื้อ Router ประเภท Wireless Router ที่สามารถใช้งาน WiFi ได้

In homes, the gateway is the IS that connects the user to the internet.In enterprises, the gateway node often acts as a proxy server and afirewall. The gateway is also associated with both a router, which use headers and forwarding tables to determine where packets are sent, and a switch, which provides the actual path for the packet in and out of the gateway.

B R I D G EComputer bridge is the playing of the game contract bridge utilizing computer software. Following years of limited progress, at the end of the twentieth century the field of computer bridge has made major advances. In 1996 the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) established an official World Computer-Bridge Championship, to be held annually along with a major bridge event. The first championship took place in 1997 at the North American Bridge Championships in Albuquerque. Since 1999 the event has been conducted as a joint activity of the American Contract Bridge League and the World Bridge Federation.
