PKOPKRTT OKOLOOTl

The rock typos underlying tke Canagau Group are similar to those of the gcnral area. They consist of}

OntilS and Schist i

The gneiaa la mostly of a biotite yarietyalthough minor amounts of a quart ion* yariety are present. These rocks appear to be tho oldest in age. They have been considerably sheared (to form tho schist), fractured and intruded by tho types described below.

Mo mineral showings of interest have yet been found in this rock type on the Canagau Oroup.

Oranite and Syentitai

These types appear somewhat mixed indistribution, so much so as to make thdr field separation yery difficult.

Both types are characteristically red-colored, medium grained and skew moderate fracturing. In places a gneissic structure is present but this isnnot well developed. Commonly this rock type contains inclusions of the gneiss or schiat.

The brecciated material la cemented with calcite, strained with hematite and la moderately radioactire. Pitchblende wai reportedly found at thia point.

For location aee Sketch Plan. These two closely creuped pita are put down near the footwall ccntaot of the dyke. They are both en intensely brecciated material with the workings too small in area to uncorer the entire tone and indicate its nature or width. One of the two pits is moderately radioaotire and the other weakly so.

Working Ho.?.

For location see Sketch Plan. This is a rock cut en the footwall of the Canagau dyke at a point where a spur dyke branches off. There ia a strong-looking three- foot vide breccia tone in this cut. Hematite le present and the breccia sone is weakly (about throe-background) radioactive. This structure locks promising and it has been exposed at no other point except at Working Ne.l, some 800 feet to the northwest.
