Uplands

Graduation of Upgrading Students of the Agronomy Division in March 2014

Upgrading Training for teachers from the Agronomy, Livestock and Agribusiness

Division on Medical Plants and Medicine Making at the Traditional Medicinal Institute

in Vientiane

Students learning how to measure contour lines and to calculate the slope at the

NAFC Upland Farm. Contour Cropping reduces erosion in Uplands.

Members of NAFC MIC Team are learning about water sewage systems and

maintenance at Maejo University in Chiang Mai, Thailand

New Dormitories have been built near the Sports ground and canteen to offer modern accommodation for the increasing numbers

of students at NAFC

Female Staff of NAFC receive their certificates for successful training on

accounting and finances

NAFC students contribute to Blood Donation Day organized by Lao Red Cross. At the same time, students’ health condition is

checked

Teachers of Outreach and Agribusiness Divisions visit a graduate from NAFC. With the skills gained in his studies, he was able to start an own vegetable farm in Oudomxay

Province.

SURAFCO II Output 4: Increased Employment of Graduates

supporting Upland Development

First year students fill in the pre-tracer study, which serves as a data-base for

following up the students after their graduation.

During their Practical Term on the NAFC Medicinal Plant Farm, students visit Pha

Tad Ke Botanical Garden in Luang Prabang. Medicinal Plants have a high

potential for income generation.

One task of the Career Counseling Section is to offer individual advice on employment

needs.
