2016 MITSUBISHI LANCER SEDAN & SPORTBACK GET STYLING UPDATES
New GTS and ES Pricelines added to sedan lineup
Mississauga, ON (October 6, 2015) – The Mitsubishi Lancer, the bestselling Mitsubishi Motors model in Canada and an IIHS Top
Safety Pick, is restyled for 2016 and arrives in dealerships next month with two new sedan pricelines, interior changes and the
latestgeneration Continuously Variable Transmission.
Lancer sedan and Sportback models receive an updated, fresh exterior look with a redesigned front fascia and all frontwheeldrive
2016 models receive, as an option, the latest CVT8 transmission for improved fuel efficiency, smoother operation and better
acceleration plus automatic air conditioning (except Lancer DE); CVT8 is standard on Lancer AllWheelControl (AWC) sedan
pricelines.
With a starting price below $15,000 for the sedan and under $20,000 for the fivedoor Sportback, Lancer ranks among the best
automotive values in Canada, and offers the industry’s best warranty – five years, 100,000 km comprehensive and 10 years, 160,000
km for powertrain.
For 2016, two new Lancer sedan value propositions arrive, each available with Mitsubishi Motors’ superb AWC system.
2016 Lancer ES and GTS Sedans
Valueoriented and packed with additional standard equipment, Lancer ES frontwheel drive, and ES AWC pricelines are new for
2016.
Priced at $17,498 with fivespeed manual transmission or $18,698 with the latest generation CVT8 transmission, Lancer ES front
wheel drive includes the 2.0litre DOHC, fourcylinder engine and features a host of standard equipment including: Seven airbags,
ABS, active stability and traction control, the full suite of advanced braking software, antitheft immobilizer, automatic climate control,
heated front seats, cruise control, power door locks with remote keyless entry, heated and folding powerside mirrors, steering
wheel mounted cruise and audio controls and Bluetooth© 2.0 handsfree interface, to name some.
Lancer ES AWC includes all the above but upgrades to the 168hp, 2.4litre DOHC engine, AWC with drivemode selector, hydraulic
powerassisted rack and pinion steering, paddle shifters, rear stabilizer bar and 16inch alloy wheels for an MSRP of $20,998 –
arguably the best allwheel drive (with CVT) sedan value on Canadian roads.
Continuing the value proposition but with a decidedly sportier edge, the newfor2016 Lancer GTS sedan features the 168hp, 2.4
litre DOHC engine and is offered as a frontwheeldrive and AWC model.
GTS includes all ES features but goes further with sport suspension and 18inch machinefinish alloy wheels. Inside, GTS receives
sixway adjustable sport bucket front seats, sportfabric seating surfaces, six speakers, glossblack with diamond pattern instrument
panel and front door accents, highcontrast speedometer and tachometer, display audio system with rearview camera, colour, multi
function display for $22,998 for frontwheel drive ($24,298 with CVT8), and $25,998 for allwheel control; add leather front seating
surfaces, FASTKey, Xenon HID headlamps, 710watt Rockford Fosgate©, ninespeaker audio for $24,998 (manual transmission)
and $26,298 (CVT8) and $27,998 (AWC).
With the addition of ES and GTS, Lancer sedans are now offered in seven distinct price lines, starting at $14,998 for Lancer DE to
$27,998 for Lancer GTS AWC.
Lancer Sportback
Lancer’s hatchback sibling, aptly named Lancer Sportback, transforms the rear view with a practical, uniquelystyled hatch design.
Equipped with the 148hp, 2.0litre, DOHC fourcylinder engine, the Mitsubishi Sportback SE Limited Edition starts at $19,798 and
adds display audio system with rearview camera, LED daytime running lamps and 16inch machined alloy wheels.
