On behalf of the residents, staff, our referring partners and theBoard of Directors of the Inn Between I want to say thank you!

With your help, in 2015,  we were able to provide 103 childrenand teens a place to call home. With your help we were ableto provide housing to  237 individuals. With your help we wereable to give individuals and families hope. Hope that the futurecan be different. Hope that life can be a little easier and hopethat dreams can come true.

2015 was a remarkable year for the Inn Between as ourdedicated and committed staff worked to strengthen ourprograms and our partnerships with other agencies in ourcommunity. Working together with other nonprofits and ourreferring partners we were able to improve and expand ourexisting services and programs.  

It is only through the efforts of so many, including you, that theInn Between is able to give people hope by providing them aplace to call home.

Eli's Story

Lucio's story is not uncommon. Out of 237 people served last year,103 were youths under the age of 18, about 40 percent of thepopulation. Right now, there are 103 youth under 18 being served byThe Inn Between. He has now graduated high school half a year earlyand has secured a position in a Job Corps training program in NorthDakota.

"When I needed to talk to someone, I met withGuillermo pretty often," he said "He helped me withinsurance, food stamps and everything. I wouldn't

have been able to do that on my own."

Eli Lucio spent most of his childhood living with his grandmother inBoulder. His parents died, and she was his primary caretaker. InSpring 2015, Lucio's grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer,so Lucio, 17 and a junior at Boulder High School, decided that it wouldbe better for her if he wasn't around, so he moved out. "I figured thatwould be too much for her to be supporting me and herself with billsand everything," Lucio said. "I thought it would be best if I left."

Lucio landed at an emergency overnight shelter in Boulder foryouth ages 11 to 21 commonly referred to as The Source, run byAttention Homes. He stayed there through most of the spring, andthen in May, with the help of the staff, secured a room at The Inn.

During 2015, the Inn provided housing,case­management and life­skills training to 237individuals, 103 of which were children. Of those, 58were families and 51 were single adult householdsincluding 11 students in our Student Incentive Program.

The information presented in these graphswas obtained from surveys completed onlineand through phone calls. Those interviewedwere residents who graduated ourprogram between 2012­2014.

In 2015, households stayed an average of14.7 months compared to 13 months in 2014.

New waitlist procedures implemented in2015 were designed to reduce placement

duration for new candidates.  

Our hope is to demonstrate that The Inn worksto house the complex needs of the various

populations in our community in a way that isconsistent, transparent, and also sustainable.
