    Art Basel

Jan Schoonhoven commuted from his hometown of

Delft, in the Netherlands, to The Hague each

weekday, worked until exactly 5, ate dinner with

his wife and then spent his evenings making all-white artworks at the kitchen table. He used white

paint on cardboard or newspaper, in one piece

after another, with only the smallest variations,

day after day. For almost 40 years.

    Stanhope Hotel

    A Thief Blends in...

This is the odd leaflet I was given when I arrived

to this fancy hotel where I stay. Very curious,

    isn'it?

It implies that Bruxelles is a city where nakedpeope with necktie, go around looking for other

naked people (them as well, wearing necktie), to

    rob.

A city where thieves use a necktie as a dress code. Also, not so easy. Being the hotel at some 200

meters from the European Parliament, every

person around me is a potential robber.

    #mammamia

Luckily, I never wear a necktie (hence they won't

    rob me). Still...

    Let's Get Out of Here...

I spent three days in Bruxelles, at this EU

My presentation went very fine, although I am not

really good at this "networking" activity (that is

the main goal of all the people there).

    Interesting experience anyway...

    Bruxelles - Magritte Museum

This I bought, and very I like!

This delightful collection allows everyone to enjoy

firsthand the provocative methods used by theartists and poets of the Surrealist school to break

through conventional thought and behavior to a

deeper truth. Invented and played by such artists

as Andr Breton, Rene Magritte, and Max Ernst,

these gems still produce results ranging from thehilarious to the mysterious and profound.

    The Digital World

    Transforming the Analog One

If the digital world would make the analog one

disappearing, it would be rather spooky, but surely

    easy to manage.

This fact that the digital layers simply overlaps the

analog one, it implies some fair amount of

    assorted logistics.

    Gego (This is really

    booummboouum!)

The other day, when I posted Constant's Two

Towers, Giulia Bonelliwas kind enough to give me

few links to ms Gertrude Goldschmidt (aka Gego).

What a world opened up to my eyes!

I am very shameful to admit I never knew about

    ms Gego and her work.

    Here we go!

    Gertrude Goldschmidt (1 August 191217

September 1994) also known as Gego, was a

modern Venezuelan artist and sculptor. Gego's

most popular works were produced in the 1960sand 1970s, during the height of popularity of

Geometric abstract art and Kinetic Art. Although

these genres influenced her somewhat, Gego tried

to develop her own style and break from the

    popular art of Venezuela.
