HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL

‘He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord
god will give him the throne of his father David.’ (Luke Ch 1 v 32)
Welcome
Call to worship
Lighting of the Christmas Candles
Carol: CH4 306: O come, all ye faithful
Prayer
Reading: Luke Ch 2 v 1 – 7 (page 841)
Carol: CH4 321: Come and join the celebration
Reflection: Donkeys and sheep?
Carol: Infant Holy, Infant Lowly
Infant Holy, Infant Lowly,
for His bed a cattle stall.
Cattle lowing, little knowing
Christ the babe is Lord of all.
Swift are winging, angels singing,
nowells ringing, tidings bringing,
Christ the Babe is Lord of all,
Christ the Babe is Lord of all.
Flocks were sleeping; shepherds keeping
vigil till the morning new,
Saw the glory, heard the story,
tidings of a Gospel true.
Thus rejoicing, free from sorrow
praises voicing, greet the morrow,
Christ the Babe was born for you,
Christ the Babe was born for you.

Celebration of Holy Communion
Holy Communion Service
We say together:
We come before the Christ Child to adore with the Shepherds,
worship with the Wise men and love with Mary and Joseph.
Because of the ‘Word made flesh’, Jesus, the king of our lives and the
light of the world, we approach this Your table with gratitude and in
humbleness at the magnitude of Your love.
Almighty God, may Your Holy Spirit enable us to be touched by the
magnificence of Your love as we remember how the Christ Child
became our Saviour and King. May Your divine will and Holy Spirit
work now through this, Your Holy Communion.
Amen.
The bread and wine are unveiled
Prayers of Thanksgiving and Consecration
Minister: Therefore on this Christmas morning with all the angels
and with the people of faith throughout the centuries
we lift up our voices and say together:
All: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts, Heaven and Earth are
full of Your Glory, Blessed is He who comes in the name of the
Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
The Bread and Wine are shared.
