IN MEMORIAM
The Rev. Francis Morton Fox, D. D.
March 1, 1866---0ctoher 29, 1935
Today Transylvania Music Camp, through worship service and the
rendition of Faure's Requiem, pays affectionate and appreciative trib
ute to the memory of
THE REV. FRANCIS MORTON FOX, D. D.,
one of our staunch and devoted friends who, OD October 29, 1955, an·
swered the call of his Lord to the higher service of heaven.
An ardent friend of American youth, a lover of music, and a firm
believer in the influence and power to elevate thought and life, he was
persuaded of the worth-whileness of Transylvania's program of musical
training, under conditions which tended also towards the building and
enrichment of character, and he sought opportunity to further it.
His active interest and helpful moral and spiritual support, which
his devoted wife also shared, were ever a source of strength and encour
agement to campers, faculty. and administration.
A Presbyterian minister of ripened experience and ablUty, he servo
ed the Camp well as a wise and devoted counsellor and spiritual guide,
for which service this memorial bears public testimoD.)'.
