12.4 Volume of Prisms & Cylinders
What is volume??????the amount of space inside of an object
The concept of finding volume of a prism or cylinder is to find the area of the base
& multiply times the height of the object!Volume of a Prism:
V = Ah where A = area of the base and h = height of prism
**Remember the key is to correctly identify the shape of the prism base and to then insert the area formula for the base shape into
the "A" portion of the volume formula.
**The "height" of the prism is always the perpendicular distance between the 2 parallel bases.
