    the rate of offending during periods of unemployment was 3 times greater than during periods of employmentAndrew Bridges Increasing the Employability of Offenders (1998)

    ..with even the least motivated of offenders who were unemployed at the start of their supervision, those who experienced any form of employment intervention gained a job at twice the rate of those who did not
