NITTCB/LLPPKK was established in 1971.
NVTC (MLVK) was established through re-organization of the National Industrial Trade Testing & Certification Board (NITTCB/LLPPKK) on 02 May 1989.

• National Skills Development Act (Act 652) or NASDA was approved by YANG DIPERTUAN AGONG on June 29th 2006.
• NASDA was gazetted on the 29 June 2006 and enforced on the 1st SEPTEMBER 2006
• The name of NVTC was changed to JABATAN PEMBANGUNAN KEMAHIRAN (JPK) or Department of Skills Development (DSD)

Info CIAST
Pusat Latihan Pengajar dan Kemahiran Lanjutan atau lebih dikenali
sebagai Centre for Instructor and Advanced Skill Training (CIAST)
terletak di Shah Alam, Selangor.
CIAST telah mula beroperasi pada tahun 1983 dengan bantuan kewangan
daripada Kerajaan Jepun di bawah Projek Pembangunan Sumber Manusia
ASEAN dan dikawal selia oleh pakar-pakar teknikal dan pengurusan dari
Jepun menerusi JICA sehingga tahun 1991.
CIAST beroperasi sepenuhnya di bawah Jabatan Tenaga Manusia,
Kementerian Sumber Manusia bermula pada 1991 sehingga Mei 2007
sebelum dipindahkan pengurusannya di bawah Jabatan Pembangunan
Kemahiran (JPK) di kementerian yang sama pada Jun 2007.

SKPK didefinasikan sebagai spesifikasi keterampilan yang perlu dimiliki oleh pekerja mahir yang bekerja di Malaysia bagi sesuatu bidang & tahap pekerjaan serta laluan untuk mencapai keterampilan tersebut.
