What is BRT ?Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is a high-quality bus-based transit system that delivers fast, comfortable, and low cost urban mobility. This system attempts to combine the capacity and speed of a light rail or a metro system with the flexibility, simplicity, safety and affordability of a bus system.

HDBRTSA dedicated four lane Bus Rapid Transit corridor is being developed between the twin cities of Hubli–Dharwad for facilitating fast, safe, comfortable, convenient and affordable public transport system. The proposed Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system will not only transport the 1.75 lakh daily passengers currently using the buses on this corridor, but will also provide safe and efficient alternative for the private vehicle users travelling on this corridor.

In the month of November an essay competition was held for the high school students of Hubballi and Dharwad. Around 35 schools and 112 students participated in the competition. ‘Importance of Bus Service in Public Transportation’ was the subject given to English medium students and ‘Importance of Public Transportation’ was the topic given to Kannada medium students.

Half day HDBRTS project orientation work shop was organized for the staff of NWKRTC in Regional Training Centre of NWKRTC, Hubballi. Around 87 staff members participated in this workshop.
