伊斯蘭教（Islam；阿拉伯話：al-’islām）係種一神論宗教，信徒叫穆斯林，而家全世界大約有12億，係僅次於天主教嘅世界第二大宗教[1]。伊斯蘭教最初由阿拉伯半島興起，伊斯蘭教呢個名來自阿拉伯話 al_is-lam，意思係「順從」同「和平」。唐宋有人叫佢做大食教，元代又有人叫佢做清真教；不過由於信呢個教嘅都係回回族人，所以以前多數叫做回回教或者回回教門，到明代又有人叫佢做天方教1，但開始普遍將回回教簡稱做回教。1956年6月2號，中國大陸《國務院關於伊斯蘭教名稱問題的通知》指出，伊斯蘭教係一個國際宗教，規定以後都唔准叫回教，要叫伊斯蘭教[2][3]，但係其他華人地方，好似香港、澳門、台灣，仍然習慣叫回教2。伊斯蘭教有好多唔同嘅教派，但共通點係相信穆罕默德係真主派嘅嘅最後一個先知，以古蘭經同聖訓做信仰依據[4]，呢個教統稱教徒做「穆斯林（Muslims）」，意思係「阿拉意志嘅順從者」[5]。西方社會曾經有人叫伊斯蘭教做穆罕默德教（Muham-madism），因為個係先知穆罕默德聽到真神感召搞出來。不過伊斯蘭
