IOT Working Group

• Purpose– investigate the technical issues that need to be fulfilled to facilitate

interoperability testing while the Steering Group (SG) considers the creation and formulation of its certification/interoperability strategy.

• Responsible for– Identifying a list of normative references that form part of the

Forum’s specification and, for each reference, researching the extent to which certification and inter-operability are addressed and how it is addressed.Identify normative references within the current set of specification which will require liaison with external organizations. And investigate how validation activities can be performed (if needed) in conjunction with the respective organizations.

• Develop the OIPF Specification/s (including

definitions of Protocols and Formats) based on

– The Requirements, from the Requirements WG, as

approved by the Steering Group,

– The Architecture and corresponding candidate protocol

technologies from the Architecture WG, as approved

– The output of other WGs that the Steering Group may

set up in order to work on specific issues.

Products and Services that make use of the OIPF Specifications and that seek OIPF Certification, the Open IPTV Forum will define, set-up and maintain the Certification process and procedures, which includes the handling of Certification results, for such Products and Services.
