KMRP is being implemented in 32 towns/ cities under 4 packages in selectedUl-Bs of Karnataka. The details of the major project components are classified intolnstitution:rl Development, Municipal lnvestmeni support and Bangalore DevelopmentComponent' There are about 90 sub-projects which'are taken rp "-no

few sub-projectsare completed and some are at various stages of implementation. A dedicated projectlmplementation Unit. (PltJ) in each project ULg nas Oeen established for effectivetrnplementation of sub-prcrjects. UGD woiks in 6 project towns and comprehensive 24x7water supply works in 4 project towns are undei implementation. providing iouseholoconnections for UGD in these project towns is also taken up under the projJct. it is essential to bring-in awareness among the community on the essentiality of gettingUGD House Service Connections. ln this regard, it is proposed to hire the services oflmplementing NGO for the promotion of houGhoid connections in Chikkaballapur town.As per ULB records, the no. of households in the town is about 11,SOO, the no. ofhouseholds covered by UGD network is about 7500 and the no. UGD house serviceconnections already provided by ULB is about 1500. The balance no. of house serviceconnections to be provided is about 6000. However, the NGO/ CBO is

lScope of the Assignment:

The lmplementing NGO will deliver the services related to social & communitymobilization activities and achieve UGD house service connections. The lmplementingNGo will work closely with the Commissioner & PIU of the concerned ULBs and ApexNGo at KUIDFc for imprementing the assigned activities.

The purpose of the assignment is to:

. Educate and create awareness among stakeholders on the importance of thehousehold UGD connections.

' Enhance the participation of local community on payment of UGD connectionfee, cost and tariff on a regular basis for better services and maintenance.

' Create awareness in the community on the importance of Sanitation andhygiene.. Build awareness about the GoK's water and sanitation policies.

' Enhance the capacities of the people's representatives, staff of IJLB and localcommunities on proper managettlenl of UGD assets createcl under the project.Enhancing the capacities of ULB's Staff on Operation and Maintenance of UGDfacilities.

Methodology:

The methodology to be adopted by the lmplementing NGo is to deliver the servicesbased on participatory approaches like . Farticipatory *rfi Appraisal (pRA), participatory

Learning Approach (PLA), Focus Group Discussions ticoi-olt" coltection methods and directinteraction between various stakeholders. Timesheets:

During the course of their work under this Contract, including field work the NGO/ CBO employeesproviding services under this Contract may be required to complete timesheets or any other documentused to identifo time spent, as well as expenses incurred, as instructed by the Project Coordinator.

Records and Accounts:
