وتستعرض هذه الدراسة تكنولوجيات الطاقة المتجددة المتوفرة عالمياً، مع التركيز على تطبيقات الطاقة الشمسية وطاقة الرياح المستخدمة لإنتاج الكهرباء، نظراً إلى أنّ قطاع الكهرباء هو الأكثر استهلاكاً للطاقة في منطقة الإسكوا ويُتوقّع أن تبلغ احتياجاته خلال العشر سنوات المقبلة ضعفها اليوم.
