HISTORY OF HAMBURGERS
• The name “Hamburger” is from seaport in Germany.
• In the 15th century, minced beef is common dish in
Europe. Chopped beef was in form of sausage in
many other European countries.
• Tartares were bought back to Russia through ships
from Hamburger in Germany.
THE CONNECTION BETWEEN
HAMBURGER AND POP ART
• The original American Hamburger is served since
1895.
• Hamburgers are usually a feature of fast food
restaurants. The hamburgers served in major fast
food establishments are usually mass-produced in
factories and frozen for delivery to the site.
POP ART
• Pop art emerged in the mid 1950s in Britain and in the
late 1950s in the United States.
• Different from fine art, pop art turned daily things into
pieces of art to draw attention of the common.
• It employs aspects of mass culture, such as
advertising and mundane cultural objects.
INTRODUCTION OF
ANDY WARHOL (1928 –1987)
• Warhol was an American painter, printmaker and
filmmaker, who was a crucial figure in the movement
of Pop art.
• He used daily materials to create mass-produced
artworks, such as Campbell Soup cans and Coke
bottles. These artworks combined art and commercial.
