The Students' Union is going to hold a party on Saturday evening, August 15 , to welcome our friends from the United States. The party will be held in the roof garden of the Main Building. It will begin at 7 : 30 p. m.. There will be music, dancing, singing, games and exchange of gifts. Will everybody please bring along a small gift for this purpose? Remember to wrap it up , sign your name and write a few words of good wishes. Don't forget; 7 : 30, Saturday evening, roof garden, Main Building. There's sure to be a lot of fun. We will take a ferryboat to the Island at 9 : 00 a.m. . The first place we are visiting is the Botanical Gardens. Then we'll visit the site of an Old Temple which has a history of over 600 years. Lunch will be at 11 : 30.

At the end of the trip, you'll see varieties of birds at the Birds House. By the way, you can visit the gift shop for souvenirs before we leave the Island. We will get back by cable car at 3 : 30 p. m. . I hope you will enjoy your visit on the Island. Thank you.

One possible version:NoticeIn order to carry out the keep-fit program throughout the country, our school has decided to hold a 10,000-metre race on the afternoon of May 4. Whether it rains or not, the race will start at 2 - 00 p. m, . Ten students of each class are asked to take part in the race. Those who will take part in the race should gather on the school playground at I : 30. Don't be late. All the runners will run along the People's Street to the traffic lights and then turn right. Go on running until reaching the post-office and turn right again. Take the second turning on the right. Go on along the river and finally return to the school.
